What an amazing and delicious neighborhood Italian joint. My wife and I just finished a dinner at this tiny place in a residential area near MSU. It’s very much a warm and welcoming little dining area with a few small rooms and cozy bar. The server brings out warm, soft bread and fresh garlic to all of the tables to then be combined with the bottles of Olive Oil, Balsamic Vinegar, and grated Parmesan. The menu itself isn’t huge and that’s a good thing. There are several pizza options to choose from in addition to the main focal point, which are the pasta dishes at Bambino’s. We both had a couple of their house salads, which were crisp, and fresh. My wife had “The Ziti”, which comes with, yep baked ziti, TENDER chunks of roast beef braised in red wine and tomato sauce, cream and then bake smothered in mozzarella cheese. It was excellent, very savory and rich yet, surprisingly not too heavy. I had “The Poppa”, Penne, Italian sausage, and mushrooms cooked in a spicy tomato cream sauce. It was also very good. All of the flavors and textures were spot on with the dishes we had. We also shared an order of Tiramisu for dessert which was also quite good, you could at least tell they made it and it wasn’t a frozen version that they just thawed out. Overall Bambino’s is most likely going to be my “go to” place in Springfield for a decent bowl of pasta and with their very reasonable prices you can go back again and again.

the food IS great but the service can be poor. i love bambinos food, the paninis are delicious and its the BEST way to spend $7 in town. everything there is delicious! the inside, and outside, is adorable and homey. it feels authentic! the portions are always big and everything is tasty. however, if youre impatient or if you dont like to hollar to get attention - dont go. i sat for 10-15 minutes with no help one time. and the girls werent busy. not a soul talked to me, finally, one girl wanted to get people helped. i had no conversation with any of the servers, though i did watch the red head have a 10 minute coversation with the male next to me about metal music. i was still ignored. i was there for a pick up and when the food was ready and bagged, they had the cook come out with my order, he looked directly ahead of him (like he was staring into space. and i believe his name is shane) and he put my bag of food at the opposite end of the bar that i was sitting at, then he walked off. no one said "this is your order" or "thank you" or anything AT ALL. i felt like an idiot. i suppose im not "hip" enough for them to provide respectful customer care. this was the poorest customer service ive ever received and as much as i love bambinos food, i wont return for quite some time.

It was amazing! Definitely would go there again! Service was great. The waitress was very bussy but still got around to us often. They worked with maximum efficiency with a packed house. The servuce has improved a great deal since a couple years ago. There was a short 10min wait at 2pm saturday afternoon, the place was completely full with happy coustomers. They start by giving you some nice bread, garlic, olive oil, balsamic vinigar, and butter. I got the ziti with a house side salad, it was great. They use the greener better leaves, rather than the cheaper filler lettuce. The ziti was to die for, some of the best I have ever had! Great soft jucy meat, perfect ammount of sauce, served hot and delicious! And a great price for what you get! Would recomend for anyone looking for great tasting sensibly priced pastas, sandwiches, and great atmosphere.

My husband and I dined there yesterday, on Valentines Day and I was completely turned off by the service. I have always heard that Bambinos is a great restaurant, and I have been waiting for a special occasion to try it out. The restaurant was not very busy, but our waitress rarely appeared. I sat for at least ten minutes with an empty glass of tea before she refilled it. After our entrees were served, another waitress had to come over and give us refills, and even had to supply us with the check, because the other waitress had completely ignored us. After leaving the check, we waited around for another ten minutes for change, and since NO ONE appeared, we had to go to the counter and request it from someone else. I will never return or recommend it to anyone else.

The waiters were on their phones, we had to get our own menus. the only big table to accomodate our party was dirty. it took the waiters a long time to come and clean it. when our waiter noticed we were handing out our own menus, she had a sour look on her face. I had the "The Nona" and food tasted old. The chicken had been atleast 1 day old from the flavor of it. I was dissapointed with our service, food and treatment. I will never go back. I dont know where the boss was, but if reads this your employees need to care a little more about paying customers. oh yeah on top of that the exit sign broke and a customers chair broke and he fell on the floor. Portions were large but the food was disgusting. I think I could honestly cook way better at home.

My mom and I visited Bambinos while we were in Springfield for the day. We thought Google was taking us in the wrong direction and then suddenly there it was!. Its a cozy, little cafe and walking up to the front door we were greeted with the smells of what promised to be a delicious lunch. I got nervous thinking there might be a wait (we were limited on time) but we were able to get a table right away. We received bread, butter, and minced garlic before we even ordered. Everything on the menu looked delicious but we both ended up getting The Diana and were not disappointed. Everything tasted fresh and authentic. And the service was fantastic as well. I have absolutely no complaints! I would eat here again if Im ever in Springfield.

I’ve never written a restaurant review before, but feel the need this time. My daughter and I like Bambino’s, and she especially likes their Tiramisu. So for her birthday I ordered a whole Tiramisu cake. I knew it would be expensive, but it was an important birthday. When I called to order, they quoted me a price of $32, so I budgeted for the expense. When I picked it up on my girl’s birthday, they said it would be $42. I gave them the ladies name I spoke with, and they said they didn’t know why she quoted that price. Take it or leave it. What could I do? I was in a bind; people were waiting at the restaurant for a birthday party. I just feel it is important to give a warning about this dishonest practice of Bambino’s.

Tried Bambinos Cafe after finding them online. Did take out & OMG it was AWESOME! The meals were such large portions that my husband & I could have shared 1 but we didnt know so we have dinner for another night. It was the best Italian place I have food from. They have homemade cakes & we got the last piece they had that night & we split it but it could have been split 3 says, it was so large. We had salads, my husband had the Pappos & I had the Ziti, it came with delicious bread & we had the chocolate cake for dessert. It tasted so good, and so much food for the money. One of the best restaurant values in Springfield. Cant wait to try them again soon.
