I made an appointment with this place on a Monday, they tell me they can get me in on Thursday. I drop off my car and over the course of many days not only do they not even look at it, but they keep lying to me and saying "well have it done today". Eventually when I pressed them for a truthful time estimate, they actually said that they couldnt make even a ballpark guess as to when they could get to it. A couple days later they call me to say that I should come pick up my car because they are simply not going to get around to it and that they are closing the shop to go on vacation for a week... The couple times I dealt with them before this incident werent great either. Had to take the car back on one occasion because didnt install my fuel injectors correctly. Also the license plate on the front lip of my car was bent out from them apparently not paying attention and scraping the front of the car while reversing. Unfortunately I currently cant recommend any other mechanics in West Plains, but I hope Ive saved you from wasting your time here.

Last time we brought our vehicle to them my husband told them we needed it to be done by 3:30 because we only have one vehicle and I work out of town and would have to be picked up. It wasnt finished at 4:00 when I called to check and was told it would be two more hours. Not acceptable. So I told him they were done and not to do the alignment. I call to make another appointment and am told to bring my car in. I make arrangements and they refuse to service my car because apparently I "gnawed him a good one" last time my car was there because they didnt listen to the instructions about being done. Time to put on your big boy pants and deal with a customer speaking up after not being listened to. There are reasons why instructions are given when appointments are made.

I am normally pretty easy going but we did not have a good experience with this place. We took our car in for an alignment. They did the front and said the back needed shims which they would have to order. They told me I would only have to pay for the shims and would not have to pay anything else since I had already paid for the alignment. The next time I took it in they kept it all day and still did not fix it because the shim they received was incorrect. The third time we took it in, my son picked it up and they had charged for labor on top of the shim price. They would not remove the additional charge even though they only did half of the alignment to start with.

We have done business with Mike and Lora for several years after a recommendation from a friend from out of town who had broken down in West Plains and had used their shop for repairs. We have come to trust them completely for timely high quality work at fair prices. My wife is comfortable taking something to them alone which says a lot. Its rare for a woman to feel comfortable doing that with a auto repair shop these days. They stand behind their work exceptionally well. They are our go-to-place for car repair and advice. Ive done Business with the Mayfields since they opened in the 90s! They have always got my vehicle Fixed on the day I made my appointment for! There price has always been fair! And they have always stood behind there work! If u want a good mechanic in west plains mayfields is it! When u go to other shops in west plains and they cant fix electrical Problems they send u to mayfields. So save ur money and go to mayfields first!
