After a good first time experience getting a hair cut from Mindy last month, I decided to try a relaxing Rose Hydrating Waterfall Therapy treatment (clearly documented in the take home spa menu on page 3 for 70 minutes @ $150). The treatment was professional and fine but the receptionist, Lora, asked me to pay $175. Upon showing her the correct pricing in the brochure right in front of her for my treatment she huffed that I was late for the appointment when in fact I arrived on time (10 minutes in advance of start time) and my treatment started at my appointment time which was exactly 12:15 per the digital clock in the room (as a regular spa goer I am careful to note such details when using new salons). After my treatment I relaxed in a lovely lounge for 5 minutes and in the steam room for another 5 before getting dressed. I was checking out and finally paying my correct bill of $150 (plus $30 for 20% tip) after dealing with reception and getting the price finally correct at 1:45 (my receipt time stamp confirms this as well!) yet she wanted me to be grateful that she didnt charge me for a 90 minute treatment instead at $175 (which isnt even listed in the take home menu). Needless to say, dealing with the receptionist ruined my entire experience so if you go, be upfront about the service, duration and price WITH RECEPTION before heading to your treatment. Unfortunately not ALL of the staff are highly qualified and service doesnt stop at the end of a good treatment. I canceled other appointments I had already scheduled as it just isnt acceptable thus the average rating. Good luck!

Just had my FIRST salon day at canyon river spa. WOW. Ive never felt so welcomed and comfortable in that environment (i am not girly whatsoever)... I had the pleasure of meeting Cordell, who trimmed my hair and made me look super fly! He was so sweet and very informative of the Aveda products. I thoroughly enjoyed being graced with his presence. We actually found out we shared multiple mutual friends! Cordell is officially MY hair stylist. He is such a natural and so passionate about his profession!! It was truly inspiring! I also met Jesse, who waxed my lip and brows. She is the cutest thing youll ever see. She does an amazing job and is a self proclaimed minimalist. She did exactly what I asked and was extremely gentle. I previously went to Ulta and they are Darth Vader compared to Jesse. I walked out of the salon with a little redness, as expected with my sensitive skin.. But I didnt feel like I just had the first three layers of skin ripped off of my face like I used to feel at Ulta... theres absolutely no burning or tingling!! I cant even put into words how awesome this crew was today. Thank you so much for being so approachable and easy to talk to. I enjoyed every moment of our "Montana kids" story time. I will only go to canyon river spa from this day on!! <3

Our staff of 7 ladies went on a retreat here on a Friday morning. We were greeted by Sari (who was the nicest lady ever)! She asked what we would like - we were offered complimentary mimosas, coffee and tea! The ladies then went into the spa. We sat by the fireplace and each had a foot scrub, then went into our separate massage rooms. The massage therapists were all so wonderful, and they were very accommodating with each of our individual needs! While some of us were waiting on the other ladies, we were able to enjoy the luxurious, lavender steam room. This was a much needed treat for our team and we appreciated it so much! I would recommend Canyon River Spa to ANYONE looking for an amazing, relaxing time!

Ive been twice and both times have been very disappointed. Ive come in with pictures of exactly what I wanted and not gotten that either time. Afterwards when Ive told them they didnt do what I asked and i wasnt pleased, they never tried to remedy their mistake, I still payed full price- which by the way is absolutely outrageously priced. Ive gone to other aveda salons received exactly what I asked for, at about half the cost. Also, they took my jacket to hang up, which I have nothing against, but when my nice Patagonia gets taken, thats when Im angry. Im so dissapointed with this place, and they will NEVER have me as a customer again.

Canyon River is great! Massages are very client-based with a full assessment before and after. I felt that my therapist Jessica really made an effort to relate to me and my lifestyle as a mom and life coach (working at a computer, picking up small children) to help me develop an at-home self-care plan that would serve me. Haircuts are professional and thorough. Haley was great! We had such a great conversation on top of it, and I left feeling and looking great! Leave the attitude behind, at your old salon, and come to Canyon River, where everyone is down to earth, approachable, and wants to give you a great spa experience.

Best Spa Ever! I recently experienced a massage, pedicure, facial, hair cut/style and waxing services at Canyon River Spa in Bozeman. The staff is exceptional and very courteous and tuned in to the needs of the client. I was greeted warmly by Lorelei and Melissa. The amenities in this establishment are luxurious to say the least. The services were all performed by competent staff and fairly priced. I love the eucalyptus steam shower! As a result of my experiences at the spa I have purchased gift certificates for loved ones and recommended their services to many people. I cant wait to go back!

Visiting my parents in Bozeman and wanted to treat my mom to a "mother/daughter" nail day... and a treat it was. We both got our nails done by Sierra, not only was she courteous and professional but she did a PERFECT job on our nails and gave the best hand massage! Im definitely hooked, cant wait to try Sierras hair services on my next visit to MT. As for the spa, the entire staff was welcoming, the facilities were clean, and everything else was grand.

I have gotten the 60 min massage, a haircut, and a couple different kinds of "waterfall treatments." The haircut was awful, stick to the spa services. The massage therapists are good except for the fact that people are always yelling, talking loudly, and slamming doors in the hall. It makes it so hard to relax, especially when the people working reception are making a racket in the spa. However the waterfall treatments make me go back for more.

Had a horrible experience at this salon. My hairdresser gave me the worst "ombré" I have ever seen and when I asked to have it fixed she told me "she did exactly as I asked", proceeded to get extremely rude, and when she pulled the manager/owner I was then told I would have to pay the extra product cost to fix it. So I got charged $140 for a truly terrible ombré job and then charged $50 to fix it back to normal.

Canyon River has been my go to for hair cut & style for quite some time now - and now officially for any waxing services as well. Seriously, I was totally blown away by their expertise. So very grateful to have this establishment in Bozeman. I am always treated cordially and professionally yet simultaneously friendly enough that I just want to stay and hang out!
