I am not a review-writer, but I just had to write one for the absolutely amazing experience I had at Positive Directions last Saturday. It was my first time in the salon and I was greeted genuinely and warmly. My hair appointment was with Laura Duffy, and she was meticulous and precise from the beginning. She was the first stylist to ever actually consider my hair type, texture and the first to actively listen to what I had to say about my challenges that I have with my thick, coarse and impossible-to-manage hair. She showed me two different ways to style my hair and went well out of her way to make sure that I understood exactly how to style it. The cut is absolutely perfect. I wore my hair down naturally (without blow dryer or flat iron) today for the first time ever and couldnt believe how great it looked and felt. Thank you, Laura and thank you Positive Directions for a lovely and memorable first time experience in your salon.

When I have a vision for a new hairstyle, Donna is a pro in helping me make it a reality! In Summer 2012 she made me a beautiful strawberry blond, then in Fall 2012 a dark brown, then Summer 2013 she bleached me blond, and now for Fall 2013 she created a sassy look of blackish-purple in the back with highlights in the front of magenta, purple, royal blue, and even a dash of elvish green! During all of these various hair dying sessions over the past year or so, Donna was not afraid to chat with her coworkers to double-check her own thoughts about how a certain color might react to the color that was currently on my head. Thus, she uses ALL of the expertise at her fingertips in order to create the look we are trying to achieve. So whether you are looking for a clean, professional look; a gorgeous updo; or something a little more wacky and fun, you can trust Donna and the team at Positive Directions.

Joanne (the owner) was awesome! I had a last minute mens haircut and she was very professional, polite and we had a great time chatting while getting my haircut. It didnt feel like a foreign place to me even though it was my first time getting my cut here. LOVE the cut. Cant beat it for $25 + tip! The location is perfect as its literally across from the 3rd St parking in Dover so youll never have to worry about parking around this area. Highly recommended! Its one of the only salon thats open on Monday too.

Amazing experience! Hands down the best haircut Ive had and a great experience to boot! I hadnt cut my hair in a while and needed a cut badly. I didnt know anywhere in town so I just googled hair salon, called them up and made an appointment. After convincing my hair stylist that I could handle a 12+ inch cut, she worked her magic, showed me how to style my new do and even straightened it, just for fun. I will definitely be back to get my hair cut again!

My first time at Positive Directions was just that... Positive! I had a shampoo, cut and blow dry with Donna and it was perfect! Everyone at the salon, though, was very engaged and just wonderful! I would recommend this salon to anyone looking for experienced stylists who are more than willing to take the time to listen, share advice, and help you reach the look best for you. I would highly recommend this salon over any other I have been to!

Trina is really good with her hands, and she knows what shes doing, my hair is particular and need an expert touch, and she did a fantastic job!! Myself and my son get Father & Son haircuts here. They do a great job. They are very good with him at 2 years old. Sometimes we clip him at home but from time to time we bring him for a nice cut. I have been going here for years, the son is a new wrinkle..

Saw Lori, she was very knowledgeable and gave me a great cut. For someone with thick, curly hair, its not always easy to find someone who knows how to cut your hair, but Lori was great.
