I joined SKB about a month ago as I am determined to lose weight and get healthy. I was looking for a gym and a way to train that could take away all my gymphobias (you know them: everybody in the gym already has a perfect body; spandex looks REALLY bad on me; Sweating is gross; I can’t run; all the dudes are jacked and um, is that even a dude?) and give me a healthy and positive determination to achieve my goals. SKB is NONE of those above excuses I had used to stay away from the gym. The coaches are hard working and motivational. They have a way of making you want to burn out another set or try a heavier bell while making you feel like it was your idea. They never doubt your ability to better yourself. They make you want to show up, on time, and work out. From Sara, who gave me the tour and my initial strength and flex test, to Kim, Rachel, Luke, and intern Steph (who I see at small group and Foundations), these coaches are phenomenal people. They care about the gym and the health of their clients. They have all redefined what a gym is for me! I can even give you some proof about the results that SKB can get you: 2 months before I finally met with Sara I had blood work done. My triglyceride level was 780 and my doctor wanted me on cholesterol medicine. I was disgusted, embarrassed and angry at myself, and I refused the medicine. I believed that if I did that to my body then I owed it to my body and future health to reverse it. The prospect of hard work and sweat should not prevent anyone from being healthy. I met with Sara and started the 8 week challenge. I met with Jenn (the nutritionist) and with her help I eat at the proper times to stabilize blood sugar and I eat more protein. I just had my blood redrawn last week, after only ONE MONTH at SKB….my blood sugar is NORMAL and my triglycerides were 201 (down from that 780...I know 210 is still high, but I am determined to bring it LOWER with the help from SKB)!!!!! OMGosh….how do you thank the team for those results? I just added years back ONTO my life. YEARS! You should not wait another day. Give Sara and SKB a call and a tryout. You will find your inner Beast!

Im visiting from out of town and back home in California Im a crossfitter. I have been attending this gym for 3 weeks (my stay here in New Hampshire) and have really enjoyed myself. Apparently this place used to be a crossfit, but it didnt work well for them so they dropped the name. Many of their exercises are similar however and what I found cool is that they do a lot of kettlebell work (in the name right? lol). I attended the large class and the more private smaller classes. Both are fine and incorporate weights with cardio. The exercises are varied and have left me sore, even considering Im an avid crossfitter at home. There are a few things I dont like but I think its more of where I come from and how I like to exercise so nothing really bad on the gym. I enjoy more pushing during my workout, like "you can do more weight, just add a little" or "you got this dont drop that weight." I personally find that encouragement helpful (not to injury of course). There are a LOT of instructors here and one or two I have noticed are helpful that way but not the majority. Although they dont claim to be a weight lifting gym, they do incorporate olympic weight lifting a little. My last and only real complaint I guess is that several of their instructors do not have a good knowledge base for weight lifting. Its not really their main thing nor is it heavily relied on in the workouts so not a giant deal. Im not faulting them for this in my rating but I was really surprised that for example...depth in a squat was faulted by several instructors. Things like that make me put less weight on the bar during workouts here because Im not confident personally to weight lift "alone" more or less. So if one wants olympic weight lifting or an emphasis on it, go somewhere else. However, for free weights, kettlebells and body weight movements/exercises this place is awesome and I definitely recommend. I will be returning when I come back!

Seacoast Kettlebell...where do I start? SKB is awesome. Heres me in a nutshell: 3 sport varsity athlete through high school, continued ice hockey through college and then coached for a couple of years, met my hubs, had two daughters and didnt workout for about 3 years. Not pretty. Last February I started at another gym doing 6am classes. With 2 small children I needed a early morning workout so I could spend the rest of my day energized and strong. The tough part - feeling motivated enough to get up at 6 am, which I have never done my entire life! The first gym I tried was lackluster. After 4 weeks the teacher still didnt know my name and the workouts did not kick my butt. Then my chiropractor, In Motion Chiropractic in Dover, recommended SKB, and now 10 months later I am in the best shape of my life. The first day I started SKB, I had the intro with Chris and was immediately impressed with his knowledge and enthusiasm. He was very thorough, being sure that I understood how and when to move for the best workout and to avoid injury. The very next day I started my first 6am class and I have never looked back. Each and every workout is different, each instructor is knowledgeable and supportive, and I feel challenged. The progress physically happened fairly quickly - but that is not surprising since I was terribly out of shape. After having two children I had told my husband that I didnt plan on ever wearing a two piece bathing suit again, and this past summer I not only got to wear a two piece, but for the first time I actually felt comfortable in it! I really cant say enough about Colin and his crew there. He is so passionate about his job, and has a way of making you feel important and supported. He has done an excellent job training his staff and ensuring that every workout is worth getting out of a warm bed at 5:30 am!

I cant say enough about Seacoast Kettlebell. So far I absolutely love it here!!! It is VERY difficult but leaves me feeling incredible. I have had stomach issues my entire life and last year things got really bad. I could barely eat anything and I was in constant pain. In the past year I have lost about 65 lbs on my own with a 100% diet change and I feel so much better. I am doing my best to learn to value my body more and take care of myself. I feel like I have made real progress and I want to continue. That is what brought me to Seacoast Kettlebell. I am so glad I made it to my Intro with Sarah. I instantly felt like I belonged. I havent worried once about anyone judging me or shutting me out because I am not in great shape. The person lifting hundreds of lbs is just as motivating and supportive as the person lifting ten. It almost feels like a family where everyone looks out for everyone else. The coaches are so knowledgeable and they teach you correct form and how NOT to hurt yourself. They make sure that no one gets lost and they will walk you through the exercises 100 times if you need it! They are so incredibly motivating and they really do make you believe in yourself. I cant wait to see what comes next for me or how my body will change during my time at SKB.
