I rented a house with college friends from FDR through Patti Zeigler/ Craig Soens. Long story short, the toilet did not work for three days and nights- one toilet, 8 people. Not to mention, the refrigerators temperature was way too high for over 24 hours (over 50 degrees). We checked in Friday and no one came to fix these issues until Monday. We did not have a toilet for 3 days and were forced to drive to gas stations, use restaurants and sneak into port-o-potties (which is unsafe and unsanitary). Not to mention, we were treated with little respect and even less consideration. When it was all said and done, I asked for a refund for the 3 days we were out of a functioning bathroom, considering when the plumber finally came he said no one had called him until that day (Monday). I did not get a refund due to the fact that they said the refrigerator was not actually broken, yet someone came to fix it (which is dishonest) and we broke a beach chair (which was probably at least 25+ years old and already broken) and a table (dishonest). In my opinion, having a functioning toilet is probably the #1 thing necessary for a rental property, and I would absolutely NEVER have paid my hard earned money to stay at a house without one for even one night, let alone 3. I look forward all year for my week down in Avalon, and this year it was completely ruined by Patti, Allan Dechert, the FDR team and whoever is the owner of 4054 Ocean Drive. I will absolutely never use them again.

Do not rent property in Avalon from Ferguson Dechert and stay away from 2254 Ocean Drive. The property we rented this summer had a rat infestation and the response that we got to our problem from Ferguson Dechert was nothing short of abominable. We had to take pictures of the rats to get them to believe us and then it pretty much took the entire week for them to do anything about it. The owner agreed to give us $500 which by no means made up for the fact that we could not let our kids outside on the deck or dock after dark. Rats were actually jumping out of the trashcans when we took the trash out. Surprise, surprise, took two months of calls and emails to even get the $500. Have rented from Avalon Realty for years....dont know why we decided to switch to Ferguson but we regret it. STAY AWAY!!!!!!!

Weve been renting from Ferguson Dechert for the past 17 years and our experience has always been positive. The rental market seems to be pretty active around Avalon, so we always try to book early to get a good property during our dates. The office staff is always helpful and any of our issues that came up while on vacation were handled immediately. When were first started renting houses in the 90s, we used a few other brokers and never felt like we were treated like customers. Once we switched to Ferguson Dechert, we never went back.

Stay FAR away from MATT BRUNNER at Ferguson Dechert. My wife and I used Ferguson Dechert previously and contacted them once again this year and were assigned MATT BRUNNER as our agent. He was endlessly rude and unprofessional to both my wife and her sister and trash talked us to the owner of the property (which we later found out when the email was accidentally forwarded to us). I could not be more disappointed and will not be back with Ferguson Dechert for our future rentals. Again, do NOT use MATT BRUNNER.

We always deal with Holly Rennie and her team of super helpful and gracious not to mention they are people who go out of their way to find exactly what you may be looking for, this group is wonderful to work with.
