In Spring of 2014, after being referred by a friend to American Home Contractors, we decided to move forward with them for vinyl replacement windows. We purchased 10 windows, 1 sliding glass door, and 1 Provia entry door. Dave initially came over to give us a quote and manage the project. He was up front about the costs and provided us with several window and door options. Ron stopped by to confirm the measurements and did a nice job installing our windows. Some of our frames and sills were rotted, so he replaced rotted wood as needed. The Provia door for our front entrance came out nicely. The crew did a decent cleanup when the project was complete. We are very satisfied with our window installation, but in Fall of 2014, our expectations were exceeded when they came to replace our entire roof. Our roof had many leaks and visibly rotted wood in our attic. We called Dave to measure and he gave us a few options within our budget for our roof and additional work. Since we plan on keeping the home long-term, we decided get new roofing with full plywood replacement, fascia, soffits, and 6" gutters. There were also minor siding repairs that included an ice barrier in several roof to wall transitions, replacement of rotted siding, also a cricket for our chimney. All aspects of the job were explained thoroughly before we signed a contract with Dave and left him with a small deposit. The crews started about one month later and the entire project was done in 4 days. During the installation, Patricio and crew were mindful about our driveway and putting tarps around our property. Due to the challenging nature of the project we had a couple of concerns, but Dave and Pat made sure everything was done thoroughly in a timely manner. Jon, the company owner, stopped by at one point to check out the work and reassured us a good job. The crews were tidy during the project, and cleaned out neighbors yards periodically. Dave came back before the first snowfall to clean up more thoroughly because we found a few more nails than we would have liked. We have not had any problems this Winter except one minor issue with our screen door not closing properly. We called Dave and scheduled with Ron to fix the door. He came over within a few days to resolve the issue. They accepted final payment at the end of the project which, I thought was a nice component to working with them. They encouraged us to pay at the end of the project so that we could appreciate the quality of work! Overall, we are extremely satisfied with our contracting experiences with American Home Contractors and we will be referring them to friends and family. Thank you American Home Contractors!

I chose American Home Contractors over several other companies for the following reasons. 1st They were very responsive to my request for a quote and they continued to work with me through many changes to the scope and nature of the project . 2nd They suggested improvements to the project and quality of the materials to be used, many at a cost savings. 3rd They were competitively priced and did not require a large upfront deposit. 4th I was convinced by their project manager Dave DeVegia, that he would be always available and would personally oversee the project to completion in a timely fashion. He also assured me that the James Hardy siding that I selected would be installed to the strict specifications set fourth by the manufacturer. 5th They were recommended by the James Hardy Company as a premier installer in my area. My results: American Home Contractors started work at the agreed time and continued work on my project with the exclusion of a few bad weather days. They even worked a few Saturdays to keep the job on time. You really find out what kind of company you have chosen when you have a problem. My problem was that the sheathing used on the whole outside of this 1950s house was fiberboard. It was, by anybodys standards, unacceptable and would all have to be replaced. American Home Contractors stuck to a very fair price they had given and got another building permit to cover the additional work. It was my pleasure to see that during the process they did things we never specifically spoke of. As an example they hid cable wires and added a new attic vent just because it was the right thing to do. Overall I am very pleased with American Home Contractors as to quality of work and materials, cost of the project, and leadership and attention to detail by Mr Dave DeVegia. I will use them again in the springtime when I add a large addition to this existing house.

We had a leak from the ceiling in the master bedroom. Jon came out and did a complete evaluation inside our attic and on our rooftop. He quickly identified the cause and recommended a plan to fix it. The job was completed and not only is our problem fixed, but the roof looks really sharp now. Theres a couple of things I appreciated about working with this company: (1) Great communication. I never had to wait for a response whenever I had a question or concern. All questions were answered immediately via phone, text and in person. (2) Straight-forward sales. No sleeze factor here. He had sales materials available but didnt make me feel like I was going through a 90-minute timeshare presentation. He used the brochures and samples correctly -- explaining exactly which products he was going to use, how, and the why behind his recommendations. (3) No pressure sales. It is clear this company is well established and not looking for my check to pay for their next meal. While we were able to get on the schedule quickly, it clearly wasnt wide open. They are busy and our job was one of many other jobs being scheduled. (4) Pricing. He wasnt the cheapest, but he certainly wasnt the most expensive. We had multiple estimates for sure. We know roofing pricing for our home. The price was still a great value for the work. (5) They cleaned up. There was no trash or scraps left behind. They removed all debris. You wouldnt know they were there. In fact, my wife didnt notice at all so she didnt even know we had contractors here the day the work was performed. Id definitely recommend using American Home Contractors for roofing in the future.

The decision to have your roof done, is a big one (in my opinion at least), as depending on the size of your home, it can be costly, and since it is an important part of the house (again, at least in my opinion), I wanted to make sure that it was done right..THE FIRST TIME! We had a few different companies in for quotes, but none of them seemed to take the time to explain in great detail the entire process (with all the little things in between) like Travis and Chris (from American Home) did. We walked around the entire outside of the house, reviewed all areas of concern, went over questions. Then they came inside, sat down, explained the whole process, the different options that we had, answered questions, (they also had to put up with my small yappy dog, as well as my 2 year old through that process), and they didnt seemed phased by it at all! After that they went into the attic, and then finished up with another walk around of the outside, and again asked if we had questions. They took a minute or two, came back inside and gave us the price..I was presently surprised! We talked about all of the people that came, compared prices, and on Monday contacted Chris from American Home to say we chose them! The process from there, was just as easy. They came, completed the roof within a day, came back to put the gutters on a few days later. They kept everything clean (Im pretty sure my yard looks better now then it did before they came out), they were polite and respectful. I would definitely recommend American Home Contractors to anyone that was looking to have their roof done!
