Where to begin with your Marlboro branch... the gym is dirty, the equipment is old, the staff is rude, condescending and hung up on me multiple times while trying to get information on how to cancel my membership. My monthly gym fee was changed without any verbal or written notice from $19.99+tx to 29.99+tx. I was also charged an annual fee of $50 for upgrades that I have never seen occur during my entire time as a member. The manager at this location Joann Caterina was by far the nastiest person I spoke to and she hung up on me three times without even trying to hear any of my concerns, about changing monthly member fees without any notice or consent from the customer. Also, at the time of signing I was never informed of a cancelation fee, an additional $29.95 to cancel membership. All these charges without any verbal or written notice, consent or authorization from the customer. Altogether I was made to pay $75+ in charges to cancel my membership, with no means of disputing the additional charges. In the event, that you cancel your credit card on file for your membership or try to dispute the charges with your bank or credit card provider NYSC will take the unpaid balance and send to collections which would then wreak havoc on the customers credit score…what a nefarious practice. Beware of NYSCs price gouging billing schemes.

I am a member of this gym since 2003 and go for workout every day including personal training twice a week. This is a big company and understandably they go through change in policies. However, when they make a change in any policy, members wont come to know till they experience it. Once you sign the contract, you are done. Nothing can be taken care of over the phone. If you are at the gym and want some kind of change it has to get done by managers only. Guess what? They are never there. If he is there, you can see him only if you have made an appointment. Their sales person Andrew did not think twice before insulting me. The manager apologized on his behalf but they still have Andrew representing them to new clients why they should join a club that treats its existing members badly. They tried to bribe me with a free month over Andrews bad behavior! I am going to miss my trainer because obviously I wont stay at the same gym any more. All the trainers work very hard to give their best and a person like Andrew or managers who take existing clients for granted can ruin their business in a blink.

Not so good, poor customer service no one seems to care about all the broken machines, especially the treadmills on the second floor. I brought it to their attention and one person pushed me of to the next. Finally, I was told parts are on order, let me tell you thats BS they dont even know whats broken or the number of machines, they dont test anything just wait for someone the complain.......a club this big should have things fixed within reason, its been months and the e same machines are still out of service.....Today I stopped a employee who turned out to be the cleaning person, however, he was the only one who seemed concerned, he tried resetting machines and saw all the damage, and least had the wits to put "out of order signs" on them instead of making people think they are working only to determine they dont- maybe he should be the manager - would probable get things done. Im sure the signs were removed as they dont want potential customers to see all the broken machines. Next step is to write to the corporate office maybe they will care.

Not really one to post negative reviews but save your time and money and dont go to this gym. Im not sure how these people got in the positions they have but they are really rude and do not know basic customer service. The manager, I think his name is Emil, is probably the worst of the bunch. When I first signed up, they offer a complimentary training session, which I did not want to do but the employee I signed up with pushed me into doing it and claimed that this trainers help will greatly improve my work out experience. The trainer who was supposed to help me did not come in the day we scheduled for and the ladies at the front had me waiting for a super long time and then told me I had to reschedule after 45 minutes. The people here are just very unpleasant. Probably the worst & rudest management team Ive ever seen. Youre lucky if you have a positive experience here. I would suggest elsewhere. One upside to this place is the bathrooms are kept clean and they have a spacious parking lot. Besides that point, this place is garbage.

Let me start by saying I am not one to leave negative reviews but in this case it is well deserved. I was just hung up on for expressing my frustration with this branch by a manager by the name of Joann Caterina. I moved out of state and forgot to cancel my membership over a month ago. After weeks of calling several times and being told the General manager would call me back I gave up. I went ahead and stopped payment to the NYSC and then waited for them to call me when they wanted my money as i knew they would. I did not hear from a store manager or anyone until they could not collect payments from my account. After a very disappointing phone call with Joann, the general manager finally called me and told me he went ahead and cancelled my account in december (news to me) and there is a cancellation fee that I am responsible for around $50. After being a member of this gym for over a year I am very disappointed with the way I am being treated when it came time for me to move on from NYSC.

Extremely poor service. I was a member for over a year until I had to relocate out of state. Despite making the effort to come in and cancel in person, I noticed I was still being charged few months later. Upon calling in repeatedly and being redirected everyday and told someone would call me(they never did) - I finally found out that the employee who cancelled my membership actually just switched it to a different type of membership instead of terminating it. They agreed to issue a refund but told me I would still be charged an annual fee for following year. Its been over two months and I still have not received a refund. I have called in so many times and the staff is mostly rude to me and just tell me their making a note and that the refund has already been issued - but Im yet to see that being reflected! Would not recommend anyone joining if it is this much of a hassle to deal with a simple account issue!!

Kids swimming program is poorly run and the staffs are incompetent. My wife bought a 6-lesson program. After 2 lessons, they called and told me my kids is ended and as if I want to sign up for more. I didnt know the details of the program so I just paid for another 5-lesson program. It was later explained to me that my kid started mid-session but they charged us for the full 6-lesson instead of just 2 lessons. They later honored the total 11 lessons I paid for. However, there was once the instructor told us that he had too many kids, and couldnt teach my daughter so its "free". They claimed the instructor had no authority to say its "free". Another time, the instructor didnt show up, but management claimed she did. In the mean time, they kept calling me to ask me to sign up for more sessions. The program is a joke, run by a bunch of amateurs. I will not go back there again.
