#################UPDATE 03/16 Yesterday I went to give this place a second chance. Because America is all about second chances. I waited for almost 90 minutes. I had enough. I left, thinking that hey... Ill come back when they open. be the early bird. So at 9 am, on a Sunday, I got to the barbershop. Because their hours stated `Sunday: 9am - midnight` right on the effing door. Figured... hey. Why not just wait a few minutes. because I also went out last night. maybe he was running 5 minutes late. Now... after 15 minutes the anger just kept building... and finally after 30 minutes... I left. I gave it a second chance. Now Im never going back. But here are things I want to know..... 1. How much money does this place lose because they mismanage their time? 2. How much does money is lost because they cant open when they say they will? 3. Who schedules these people? 4. What are their profit margins? Yesterday ( including me ) 4 people left w/o a hair cut. Thats almost $80, in an hour. They just lost $20 bucks this morning on me? 5. When you have a good product, but absolutely s41tty service and management.... youre going to fail. I hope you get your s41t together people.... ############################## original ############################### Oct 2015 As I have been a frequent customer for over 18months, I was always under the impression that it was first come serve. I have inquired about being able to call ahead, and was told that its store policy to not take appointments due to the chairs filling up quickly. Made since. Today I waited over 90 minutes , and when my turn came, another person got what I believed to be my spot. When I asked, stated that I had been here for over an hour waiting, and this guy walked in less then 20 minutes before he sat down, I was told that he called "yesterday", and not to worry, Id be next. I wasnt worried about being next. Its disrespectful to trump a paying customer because your friend came in. For the record, I will never return to your shop. We live in a world where you are not limited by where you can go to get a service. I can go anywhere, and now I will. Im not upset about the wait. Ive waited over 2 hours to get my hair cut by you guys. I was loyal. Constantly returned. Its upsetting that you let money walk out the door because the guy is your friend. Sorry. Bad reviews and no more people will be referred to your shop. Which is really upsetting. Im very picky about where I get my hair cut. You guys have a great friendly atmosphere. One I will never set foot into ever again .

One star for UniCut...that is they are only great if you only want a buzz cut, which most anyone with some hand coordination can do at home with electric hair clipper, and some design like a G for the Giants on the back of your head. They can do whitewalls, but not a taper. They have obviously had no advanced professional training and do not understand different hair types, growth patterns and cowlicks. Yes, I even expressed my concern to the guy that I have fine hair with cowlick and pointed to the crown of my head. He assured me he understood. Nevertheless, the crown of my hair was cut as short as the back hairline. Same length in back from crown to hair line! That is not a taper! If you tell me you are a painter and can paint my car, but really only have experience painting houses have some integrity to admit this and do not take on the job. This place is not much different than any of the chain barber shops such as the Hair Cuttery. Guess all have to find the time to travel an hour out of my way to get a decent cut.

If your looking for the ultimate barbershop experience (quality haircut, good conversation, fun and relaxing atmosphere), then you need to make an appearance downtown New Brunswick at Scissorhands. Here you will find good people who share a passion in making people feel good with a simple haircut. Everytime I go there no matter what my mood is preceding my visit, I have freedom from worries and inhibitions as I enjoy the good conversation, laughter, and the overall positive vibe. Yes the prices are on the high side, but along with everything else you get what you pay for, the ultimate service. I drive a little over a half hr to get my haircut here; I could easily go to a closer maybe local spot, but It doesnt compare to the service I get at Scissorhands.

This is how all barber shops should be like. Its one of my best hair cutting experience Ive had so far. I totally dig the old school vibe with the classy antique barber chairs , wood furniture and the funny energetic shoe shiner. I enjoyed the fun atmosphere with the ps3 and flat screens , if i had to wait for a barber i would not feel the time pass. Prices are fair and the barbers always leave you with a tip for taking care of your hair or beard. Also all the sports jerseys and items they have hanging on the wall are very enjoyable to observe and give off a manly vibe.finally its neat , clean , hygienic , fun , classy and prices are fair , i dont think i can find this combination anywhere else.

Great place for a reasonably priced hair cut. Barbers will take there time to make sure everything is even and they do not rush. Ive been there 3 times now and each time I give my self about 45 minutes to relax and enjoy the barbershop environment. Ending each time with a hot towel and shave. As a college student their hours accommodate my busy schedule. Ive been in New Brunswick four years now and since its opening Scissor Hands has given me the best bang for my buck. I recommend Scissor Hands to anyone who is looking for a good hair cut and the place is a ball to be at, lots of funny and charismatic personalities working in the shop.

If you read the ratings 3/3 it is quite obvious they are written by people with an invested interest in the store. They do not seem real at all! I got a fohawk done there and it was honestly one of the worst haircuts ive ever gotten. I dont know if the guy got in a fight with his GF right before he cut my hair but my head was treated like an inanimate object. I figured id let it slide and see how it turned out. There was a few small patches left that i found when i went home and my side burns were not remotely even (legit about a centimeter off) he also brought in one side much higher than the other... horrific cut. do not go to this place

After growing my hair out for 8 months. my girlfriend broke up with me, i lost my job, and my own mother didnt recognize me when i came home for thanksgiving. Needless to say, i looked like a homeless person. Saw Scissorhands on my way to a date at a local bar, and figured it was time for fresh start. Best part was that it was still open at 10pm. texted the date i would be a little late and got a cut. The date went well. :) my ex recently saw me at a local restaurant and couldnt believe it was me. Im only 27 but i can easily say it was one of the best decisions Ive made in a while. i found a new barber and a best friend.
