My family has been with Dance Arya for a few years now.I would like to take this opportunity to express my happiness with Arya Dance Academy. I cant say enough good things about this company. The company has grown leaps and bounds and has made incredible strides in the form of dance. This company represents the culture of Indian dancing to the kids that stay abroad. It brings the very essence of India through this form of art of dance which is beyond words. They range from kids as young as 4 to adults who are in love with the art of dance. The directors of this company Rupal & Rahul Patel take pride in what they do and this pride trickles down to our children, which only enhances the foundation of our culture. The soul of the Arya Dance Company by far are stellar and exceptional Choreographers who are commendable for their hard work, dedication and by far are the cream de la cream of bollywood dance. They have danced along side of big Bollywood celebrities and have bought their exceptional talents overseas. They are very charismatic, patient, skillful and very knowledgeable in the way they teach. They make dance fun and yet instill talent in our children which is beyond words. They excel in their fields of different styles of dancing (Such as Kathak, Bollywood, Freestyle etc). The Company has a very impressive resume to say the least. They encourage the kids at all levels brining them up from the beginners to becoming the professionals that they will be. The talent is surpassable and the company encourages kids to perform at platforms such as the yearly recitals, the Diwali shows, IFFA, Dance Use Dance and many others throughout the USA. These shows and events give opportunities to kids to showcase their talents on a very big scale. These shows that the kids have performed at have included Bollywood celebrities namely Salman Khanji, Katrina Kaif, Shahid Kapoor, Kirti Sanon, Sushant Singh, Saroj Khanji, Alka Yagnikji, Kumar Sanuji, Farhan Akhtarji just to name a few. The experience and the exposure is commendable. Arya is by far the best dance company when it comes to establishing the talent in these children. The dances are phenomenally choreographed and these kids com out as stars in their own realm.I would highly recommend this company to anyone looking to express themselves in the form of dance.... Reason of review: Good quality. I liked: Performance opportunities, Instructors.

No Pictures/Video allowed at the NJ show. Horrible Policy. I only can rate about the only direct experience I had with ARYA at their NJ Competition/Show. As a father who attended my 4yo daughter’s first Indian stage performance. I was very disappointed that ARYA would not allow parents to take any video or pictures of their own kids during the performance. Its an important and memorable occasion. Many felt the same way and found this to be a very poor policy. "$20 means a lot to them" is what another parent stated, as many felt the same way. In my opinion, if they really want the extra money they should build the charge into the ticket price, dance class price or for crying out loud I will pay extra $20 just to allow taking of pictures of your own kid’s first performance (and will committ to buy their video). It was so bad that it seemed so many parents were trying to capture a quick picture or video clip on the camcorder/phone that I saw 2 ARYA staff members just in my section, basically get in my way to get the parents to stop taking pictures/video. So now I have ARYA staff disturbing the rest of the audience so we cant even watch the show. WOW! Thats what I find upsetting. They must really want us to buy that video to make an extra buck that likely will not even have a picture of our first performer on it. That in itself leaves me to provide a bad rating due to this terrible policy. Even the many nationwide professional show and even Disney shows only restrict FLASH photography because it may affect the performers. I cannot comment of the rest of ARYA including the teacher, as this was my only direct experience at the show. My daugher loves the teacher and loves to learn to dance but I not will not have any pictures to show for it. FYI, I did not have this issue at her ballet recital at an American Dance Studio which was professionally managed.

Ive had a wonderful and amazing experience with arya dance academy. I have tried several dance institutes before enrolling my daughter at Arya which I find the best of all. It offered high quality dancing classes, opportunity to perform at numerous events and functions all around the year. The teachers are extremely qualified and energetic. Parental involvement is great! I must also say that they have a very good referral program and the class size is very balanced. Another awesome thing is that Arya provides costumes and all accessories at no cost to all enrolled students for performance at all events all year long! There are so many payment options, location options, class enrollment options and the most amazing thing is that they have adult dance group too! It provides perfect opportunity for moms to learn dance and work out while their children enjoy it too. The instructors are very qualified and trained and have worked with top Bollywood stars and have done choreography for Bollywood movie dances and danced with the stars. I have been with Arya for 2 years and plan to continue for several years to come. My daughter totally loves it and is fascinated by the teacher. The management and the entire team has high professional standards and really focus on providing the best of the best to all participants! We love Arya and extremely happy to be part of the Arya family! I highly recommend it to everyone!

My daughter has been a student at Arya since last year. From time to time I would hear complaints from her about her teacher being "mean" to the kids. I would brush it off as if she was just tough. More recently my daughter came home to tell me that the teacher said to her that they have to do easier dance steps because of her. She was quite upset and said she does not want to go back. When I addressed it with the teacher she told me via text that she told all the kids that. Thats not something a teacher should say to the kids, period! For an age group of 7-9 years old, if "ALL" the kids are not getting it, maybe as a teacher you need to evaluate if your steps are too hard. When I addressed this with the school, the office after trying to reach them multiple times finally got back to me. They told me it takes them 48 hours to answer back messages. Even a large corporate business does not have that policy! They were of no help or even did not think to apologize for the incident. They suggested I go to other locations etc not even mentioning that they will speak to the teacher until I asked them. We are all busy and the location I selected in Nutley was based on distance and convenience. I would not recommend Arya based on a few things, unsupportive staff, response time too long, one unprofessional teacher (I am sure other teachers are good) and also overpriced with really poor customer service.

I am giving Arya Poor- Fair because there isnt anything below this rating. My daughter went to Arya last year and I found it to be such a waste of time and money. Her teacher was changed three times during the year. The classes were cancelled multiple times without any prior notice because either the facility or the teacher had some issues. And on top of everything towards the end of the year when kids should be preparing for the recital , they changed the location. And we have to drive 15 miles each way for the class. The recital song was changed multiple times and since my daughter’s class joined a group who was already learning the dance they were just given some petty steps to do and were like extras in the song. Despite all this I again registered my daughter to Arya this year just because my daughter is too keen to learn the dance and also because I couldn’t find any other Dance Academy . At the time of registration I was promised that if I do not wish to continue after the trial class my money will be totally refunded. My daughter went for the trial class but we made up our mind not to continue it any further. I have been following Arya for my refund since September 2012 through emails/ phones but I haven’t got my money yet. I would definitely not recommend Arya to anyone.
