This is an authentic Dominican hair salon: salsa, merengue, and bachata music blasting through the speakers, Dominican hairdressers speaking in rapid Spanish with little to no English, and a few little kids running around the salon. My mother and I have been coming here for more than 5 years to get our hair done and we appreciate the service and really like how our hair comes out nice and silky. At times the hairdressers can be brash and not very friendly, but you cant beat the price - $25 (on average) for a wash and set. Get ready for a long wait. From start to finish, it takes 2+ hours to get my hair down (its about halfway done my back). There is a station for African hair breading, eyebrow waxing, and the barber shop next door is owned by the same owner.

This Salon is HORRIBLE.. if you are not spanish I wouldnt recommend going. They like they own kind which is sad. They treat African Americans like they are dirt. I went there twice and i said never again from both experiences. First time i was forgiving they had me waiting forever and acted like they did not want to do my hair. Second time they give my friend and I attiude speaking in spanish like my friend did not understand it. I WOULD NEVER COME HERE AGAIN AND WASTE MY MONEY! These "beauticians" know nothing about hospaility and respect.

I go every two weeks now. My hair has never looked so healthy and posh. Everyone walking out of there looks good and I am very satisfied. I am African American and I practice my Spanish there - first time was culture shock, but now I just do my thing and go with the flow. Quite a few African Americans there. No one does African diaspora hair like Dominican stylists. They smooth the kinky but leave it healthy so you can still wear it natural without permanent damage. Mamita is my favorite.

The people here can cut your hair really good such as giving shape-ups, etc. However, a certain individual is considered a rookie and cannot give hairlines as good as the others. He messed up my hair 2 days before school!!!! TWICE consecutively. Well, I still recommend this shop to anyone who wants to look nice.

Unfair basically! Waiting more than 1 hour just to get a haircut doesnt seem reasonable. They claim other people were here before me.
