Very happy with my haircut. Edited: 4/29/2016 I was so pleased with this place the first time I came that I went out of my way to come here and get a haircut again. However this second time around was not so pleasant. The gentleman at the front who I believe is the owner was still super nice. However the barber I got this time was not nice at all! Maybe she had a bad day? So I will give her the benefit of the doubt. However no matter how bad your day is you dont take it out on paying customers. Her attitude and snarky comments where completely uncalled for. Then she even jabbed my ear with the brush at the end of my cut, I showed my discomfort and she didnt even bother to apologize. Maybe she was upset because I was a walk-in and didnt have an appointment but I do believe I read somewhere that walk-ins are welcome. Maybe next time she should just decline to take the customer. So I cannot say I will completely rule this place out in the future however I will look for a new spot to get my haircut for when I am in Brooklyn. Unless my original Barber (Irene) that I used the first time is available, then I will go no problem. But because I believe that a business should hold their employees to a certain standard I will have to take away a few stars from my original 5 star review.... Well I re-edited my review again now that Im home. I looked at my hair in my bathroom light and its butchered. It is not even at all. It went from a revised 3 star from 5 star to a 1 star because now I have to live with this until it grows out enough to get it properly done :-( Im very very disappointed. Another update. I just called the barber shop because I couldnt let this go unknown because its also not good for their business and I really like this place. So the owner offered to pay for my next haircut. That is very nice therefore Ill take it back up to a 3 star. UPDATE: 10/6/2016 Came back to get my haircut and YEEEEES! This place is the best there is around! So the girl barber that I had a bad experience with last time is no longer working here! Guess she mustve been going through something..... Their customer service is just amazing! The owner guy remembered me and took great care of me. I felt like a VIP. Again- best place around!!!

This establishment is probably one of the only reasons why I would go Greenpoint. The inside looks like it could be old school 60s style barber, but it has a very modern twist to it. I just love the way they do everything here. Their service is incredible and everyone is extremely nice. Ive also found that the crowd that comes in here are of the same caliber of niceness and old-school classy. I came here with a friend and I didnt know what to expect, so I was happy to find a cold pabst in my hand while I read some GQ and enjoyed the open space and great sunlight. I was delighted just sitting there hanging out with the atmosphere. The haircut itself was also quite good. Im a big fan and Ill be back next month.

I just found my new go to spot for a haircut in NYC. Found these guys online, and called for an appointment which I found out was not necessary but good to have because Im sure they get pretty busy, got there a few minutes early, they were ready for me, offered me a beer, and then I was sat with Juan. He cut my hair like it was his own. Cool guy with a good personality, which seemed to be the trend with everyone working there, as everyone was in conversation. Great atmosphere, people and hair cut!

All establishments want you to kindly give 24 hours cancellation notice. Well who gives the customer kindly notice when their appointment is canceled? I walked in just to be told that my appointment was cancelled. Nice one! Love to spend on taxi round trips for nothing!!!

Got a neck shave at the end. An excellent end to a great experience. He spent around 40 minutes on my hair. Very pleased. Found my new barber. Clippers on top, buzz on side. Didnt get a PBR....it was 11am...... but he did offer. I would highly recommend this spot.

This has been my regular shop since it opened. I love this place. They can cut hair anyway you want it but if you are looking for a traditional American haircut this is the place to go. They also have the best selection of pomade anywhere.

I made an appoinment but when I got there I had to wait for almost 30 minutes because the barber was running late. When he came he gave a very quick and patchy haircut. He did though gave a discount but I still had to do touch up at home

I enjoyed getting my haircut from Kenneth he was interesting and friendly. I had been here before but did not feel totally comfortable with the guy cutting my hair he couldnt have been more disengaged.

First time I went to a barber in my life. The experience is so awesome that it may be a good reason for you to grow a beard. You are offered beer or whisky when you come in. Great cut and advice.
