My friends had a night wedding at Colonial Terrace, ceremony and reception at nighttime. We had to get a hotel up in Poughkeepsie because theres nothing really close. I couldnt really judge the ceremony because we only showed up for "I now pronounce you man and wife, you may kiss the bride." (more on that later) The cocktails were alright. They shepherded us into the outer room with the bar for appetizers while they shut off the other room to reset from ceremony to dinner. The catering was good and bar drinks were strong, but it was a little cramped in the outer room. The inner room had no windows and was by far worse for decor, but theres friends there and whatnot, so who cares. The dinner was by all accounts good. The beef was lukewarm but tender and juicy, and the sides were in order. The only truly bad comment I have is that it was very hard to find. We were on schedule to arrive 45 minutes early and we were 15 minutes late trying to find Albany Post Road. We went to Peeskill and back twice and asked several local businesses before we found it, and we had google maps printed out. Parking is limited, mostly because they are fond of two weddings at once (two different halls, both active). Colonail Terrace was enjoyable. Not picturesque or astounding, but pretty good just the same.

If you are having a function and need a place to host it, the Mansion is a beautiful and classy place to hold your special occasion. I was there twice and both times the place and staff were nice and professional. Downsides, it is in Westchester, the rural part, so if you live in NYC, your travel time could be upwards of an hour. And the hill from the parking lot and steps to the front door, if you have issues walking, assistance may be needed. Otherwise, it will check alot, if not, all your boxes if you do decide to have your function here.
