**Update** I thought I had seen the lowest this company can stoop - turns out there is a new low for AMHAC and Natalie Lloyd. She contacted my employer - I guess she thought it would get me fired?? Not sure what is more laughable - the fact that she thought an employer would get in the middle of a dispute, or the fact that the information she sent was altered to try and make AMHAC look good. Had a good laugh about the attempts to remove portions of emails that showed AMHACs wrong doings. The following statement was also included: "We simply want Mr. E. to discontinue the on-line lies that are being spread. AMHAC is a small family owned business and these unfair online reviews have irrevocable consequences to our future business.” News flash, AMHAC: how can it be all lies if most of the reviews on this site (and others) basically say the same thing? Poor customer service; lackluster competency of technicians; inflated prices. Also, the easiest way to stop getting negative online reviews is to perform solid work at a fair price and display excellent customer service. The only one causing irrevocable consequences to your future business is you. The irony of all this is that I had cut my losses after writing my initial post and making a complaint to the BBB. Looks like I may have to expend a bit more energy on this. Still not sure how AMHAC is still in business. PLEASE READ ALL REVIEWS BEFORE YOU DECIDE TO DO BUSINESS WITH AMHAC! Would give zero stars if that was an option. DISHONEST, RUDE, AND FRAUDULENT COMPANY!!! BEWARE! I thought I was in bizarro world with this company until I started reading the reviews here and elsewhere. Very incompetent staff, and customer service is non-existent. Company has been around for a while, but based on the recent reviews, perhaps the young manager (Natalie Lloyd) inherited the reigns and is about to run the company aground. They did very poor work - technician did not know how to wire a float switch to the main power of my AC unit, so he basically did not wire it at all. For 3 years, condensation accumulated with no float to shut off system. Developed mold in the attic which then went into the ducts and to the entire house, causing my 3 year old son to develop bronchospasm. On top of that, there was the wrong sized filter installed - too big and was folded over to fit (wish I could post pictures on this review!!), but got sucked into the main trunk so there was zero filtering for over 1 year. On top of even that (yes, there is more!), they failed to service my systems under their gold contract for an entire year - just never showed up at all, but was quick to send me an invoice for the next year (~$900). When I called them on it, the begrudgingly set an appointment but failed to show up to that as well!! After many emails and calls with them, they tried to turn everything on me by saying I asked for my system to be wired incorrectly (yeah, right...) and they claimed they serviced my unit on a particular date in which they didnt. I have email and invoice proof of the incorrect wiring. They also sent a fraudulent invoice about their visit (which never happened - I have video proof from my security system). Instead of my signature on the invoice, they wrote "no one home at time of departure" -basically suggesting that I allowed a stranger into my home to service my AC, but left them at home by themselves to "lock up when they are done" - who does that??? Anyway, Ive filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau and will also be seeking legal action against this joke of a company. STAY AWAY FROM AMHAC!! And if youre already one of their customers, PLEASE CHECK YOUR SYSTEMS AND YOUR INVOICES!! Not sure how this company is still in business!!

Obviously, at one star, I DO NOT recommend this company, here is why: If you want a small installation, like your thermostat, maybe. However, if you are looking for any sort of engineering work, anything past turning a wrench, DO NOT COME HERE. You will be addressed by your last name, there will be TERRIBLE customer service. Everyone is oblivious to what is going on. Expect to have to micromanage your OWN project. They will do nothing unless they are explicitly told to do so, meanwhile, they will give a lot of friction for any direction they are given. They have no idea what they need to do to get governmental approvals. Expect a huge bill after you have done all their work while being mistreated. If you are looking for basic services, they might suffice. 1 out of the 5 people who worked on my project, was competent. The rest were disrespectful and incompetent at best, at worst they were rude and nasty.

After going out to three vendors, we chose Amhac to for the conversion from oil to gas and to replace our entire heating, hot water and AC mechanicals. They had a very competitive price, did a great job and handled everything with ConEd (who was a nightmare and totally unresponsive). They were professional, explained everything that was going on, cleaned up every time they came to the house. When we had few minor issues with the system post installation, they were timely in coming to house and correcting the item or making changes. We even had a bad condenser (not Amhacs fault) that was discovered a year later, Carrier was being difficult on honoring their warrantee and Amhac stepped in, got us a brand new AC unit and fought the company on there own. I couldnt be happier and highly recommend there services.

My wife and I strongly recommend Amhac. We were recently looking for an air conditioning company to install central air conditioning in a “pre war” condo in Manhattan. Central air in older NYC apartments are ectreamly challenging, and therefore very rare. I was referred to Marc Berman and the Amhac team by a trusted contractor that I’ve previously worked with. Mr. Berman’s team was outstanding in every stage of the project. The central air design was uniquely innovative, maximizing the cooling air – while maintaining the structure of the apartment. The project was finished on schedule and on budget. Other building residents and buyers have looked at Amhac’s work on our apartment, and hired Amhac to install central air in their apartments.

Beware if you plan on using AMHAC in Eastchester for a repair. They will hit you with a $95 trip fee _ perhaps without notice. That was my experience. They installed our system and one Sunday it went out. I called at 7:30 a.m. Monday and they promised to have someone out by 1 p.m. The tech arrived about noon and found a simple problem immediately. It was solved within an hour. However, the $150 job turned into a $285 disappointment when they hit me with an unannounced trip fee. Talked with their service manager who insisted that the person who booked my service would not have forgotten to provide that information. Obviously they did or I wouldnt have been arguing with them on the phone about it. Sad to say, I will not use them again.

I have been a customer of AMHAC for about 16 years. They have been great. They are very responsive to my questions and problems. Recently, during a week of 90 degree weather, my air conditioner broke. I called them and they arrived within a couple of hours. My AC unit was 13 years old and basically was shot. An engineer, Pat, came the same day, called me at work, and emailed me my options. He then called me the next morning and reviewed the options and we picked the best option (not the most expensive) and it was ordered right away and installed within 48 hours!. They even came back the next day to check on it. I highly recommend them. They also installed and maintain my generator! I am so glad I have a service contract with them. KP
