I visit this location a few times a week - I belong to the club one town over. I frequent both locations on different days of the week. My membership permits me to go to any location. The Manhattan location is another location I visit from time to time. My concern is because, I have been going back and forth to both gyms for quite some time. However, when I entered the gym a little while ago, I was asked to sign in. Not a problem (however, none of the staff has asked me to do so for the time I have visited this location). My warning bells went off when I was interviewed as to why I was coming to this particular gym. No one has ever asked me this before. I found it quite interesting that Jack (I think that was his name) would ask me this. I started to ask him if the other visitors at the gym were asked the same. The gym was packed and I am certain there were other visitors from other town gyms were there. Yet, there were only a couple of people that signed it to this gym. I joined this gym with my wife while visiting the gym with a friend. I was a NY sports club member before. They never treated me in such a manner and they are walking distance from my house. Perhaps I should return to my home gym with NY sports Club and not Planet Fitness, since the rules apply to some and not to others. You can thank Jack for this. In this day and age, it has become quite exhausting constantly proving to people that I am a non-threatening black male with a wife, two kids (one in college) and a dog. This has got to stop. I know I am just one person. But perhaps, it will have to begin with me. I dont expect anything to happen with this letter. A copy of this is going to be sent to the corporate office. Thank you Planet Fitness for making me and my family feel that in 2015 things are better. So much for a judgement free zone. Please excuse my typos - I am in my car typing on my iPhone & I am a not in the best of moods.

Facilities are good for planet fitness for sure; worth $10/month without a doubt. The issue here is not related to the staff/equipment, etc, and is twofold: firstly, as with many PF sites in dense areas, it can get packed during prime time (after work) hours. It is what it is, but its basically manageable. The second (and most deterring) issue is the parking... ho-leeeee crap! Its gotten so bad now that people park in the surrounding neighborhood and THATs even becoming difficult to find a spot in!! Its truly becoming unbearable. But there is really nothing they can even do about it. Actually thats not entirely true, they did repave the parking lot and made the spots 6-8 inches thinner (as to produce more spots than before). All this did was make an already horrendous parking experience even worse. Example: If you drive anything larger than a jeep Cherokee, then parking here will render both cars next to you impregnable and you can expect many-a-ding on both of your doors. Again, not sure what they can even do about this, or if theyre inclined to do so, but its SUPER annoying. Maybe offer a shuttle service haha. But 4 real: I shouldnt have to go home and jog through my neighborhood and do push-ups and pull-ups in the playground bc I cant find a parking spot at the gym I belong to lol. Type-brutal.... borderline unacceptable.... but its ten measley dollars a month

Im not sure where to start. It should be the staff or the owner of this gym. The staff is not very helpful. I had an issue a couple months ago with someone who hit and run my car in the parking lot and every time I asked for manager or the owner, they were never there. The kids at the front desk didnt know what to say. The parking lot is EXTREMELY to small for the amount of people who go to this gym. The lines are to small and each car is on top of each other. Half the people that workout here dont know how to park and most of them park sideways in a spot. Its extremely obnoxious. I would beware of who you park next to. I have a brand new car now with a dent in my door and nobody has owned up to it. It should tell you a little something about the people that go here. The owner needs to accommodate his customers and get a bigger parking lot. Its a mad house here and some of the people that go to this gym are really rude. I defintely DO NOT recommend this gym.

I think I had this place st three stars, but am downgrading to two. The reasoning may only affect me and a few other enthusiasts, but heres why I downgraded to an unsightly two stars: They just re-did this place, got new machines, and changed the layout. Whether or not this new look will "work" for them is yet to be seen. The parking solution certainly did not help matters. Annnnnyway, here is what I dont understand: before their reconfiguration there were TWO (2) ab trestle machines. Now, inexplicably, after the changes, there is only one. Why? This I simply do not understand. And to make matters worse, you moved the location of the ab trestle to the front of treadmills and ellipticals. So now I not Only have to wait longer to sit on the damn Machine, but I now have an audience. You people are morons. Thats all.

The circuit training is never monitored by the staff. People just sit on the circuit machines texting and doing sets. If you ask to work through they refuse. A woman actually threatened to attack me when I asked to work through. I told the staff but they did nothing about it. The woman and her personal trainer said "nobody does that here". Signs all over the circuit area say that it is monitored but it isnt. The staff only cares about signing up new members, they dont monitor any other part of the gym. If you ask the staff help clear the circuit area they wont help. I was told point blank that they have to stay at the desk to show new members around. That tells you all you need to know. Its about the money, nothing else.

Great price, not a great gym. If you like treadmills and Cybex machines, this is the gym for you! But if you like Olympic free-weights, dumbbells that go higher than 60lbs, and room to move...pay the extra price for another gym. The "free-weight" area is just about 15-20 feet long by about 8 feet wide and needs to accommodate 4 different benches, and only consists of dumbbells. Crowding is the rule, so prepare to hit the gym BEFORE 7am to avoid a crowd. There is still a good number of people a that time, but not so bad that it interferes with your workout. I got a Living Social deal so I only paid $1 for a month, but now that its expired I dont feel like the gym is worth ten bucks.

This place is the absolute worst, the parking lot horror stories aside, They do not honor the agreements they make when cancelling memberships, Myself and several of my friends were each billed for a month after clearly cancelling, and the staff is very rude about fixing it, avoid the unhelpful guy who that works at the front, aside from being arguementative and having an obviously low IQ, called my friend "privileged" based on his skin color when he went in to get the money back they took from his account! Planet Fitness is the worst gym chain out there.... Too bad i cant give this place zero stars, go to LA Fitness people.
