Since moving here to NYC 6 years ago, I have collected a series of horrific salon experiences .....until now. I had noticed this salon several times as I walked to work, and every time, each seat was always filled, a great sign! So, I decided to give it a try. I scheduled an appointment a few days in advance and waited nervously until it was time to go. I was really surprised to find when I arrived that my appointment had been erased from their record book by mistake. I immediately got nervous, and just as quickly, Natasha kept me calm. Luckily, she could see where my name had been written down and hadnt quite been erased completely. She apologized on the behalf of the culprit for the mix up, who had called in sick that day and was actually the person who was supposed to conduct my appointment, and proceeded to follow through on my appointment even though it wasnt in her schedule. She didnt rush, she took her time, and made it more than just an appointment, it was a service, and I walked away feeling so fulfilled and relieved that Ive FINALLY found my go-to place. STRONGLY recommended, in fact, I am booking my next appointment after I publish this. See you there!

Time to update my review. Bobby has been doing my hair for 17 years. He is beyond amazing. Two stories: 1. My best friend arrived in town, her hair was a mess. I called Bobby and got her an appointment; my friend called once Bobby had finished her hair. We agreed to meet on the street corner; once there I heard my name called but did not see who was calling. Then I saw Nancy. She was beautiful. She had been a teen model and she looked ready to stroll the catwalk again! 2. My sister’s 17 year old daughter arrived in town with hair hard to described, her roots, chestnut brown were 4 ½” grown out, from there blond hair with orange strands for the next 4” ,then, henna red tips. True mess of a mess. I hoped Bobby wouldn’t end our friendship over something like this, I sent a nightmare of a “hair-not” Well, big surprise yet no surprise at all. The 17 year old girl that looked ready for re-hab looked like she was ready for the Red Carpet!! She was beautiful. Her hair was cut, styled and feathered to look elegant and hip. He truly made a masterpiece from the worst bedhead ever!

I was suffering from a bad case of blah winter mom hair and today I couldnt take it anymore. E & N is just a few blocks from my work, so I called this afternoon and they were able to make me an appointment for right after work for a cut and color! I couldnt believe it--after reading all the great reviews, I assumed it would take much longer to get an appointment. Natasha did an amazing job coloring and cutting my hair. She was the perfect balance of accommodating to my preferences and had good recommendations for what she thought would work best. She even offered to wrap the stems of my glasses in foil so I could wear them to read while the color set. I ended up with a great haircut and color. I posted a picture to Facebook when I got home and in 5 minutes, I had 10 people commenting on it to say it looked great. I will definitely be back for my next cut and color and will be recommending this salon to my coworkers.

I decided to cut my chin-length hair into a pixie cut. It was a BIG decision for me. I hadnt made an appointment, but they squeezed me in almost immediately (on a Saturday!). Anna wasnt the most friendly hair-dresser Ive ever met, but she did exactly what I showed her a picture of, and it turned out great. And she wasnt RUDE, she just wasnt chatty, either. It didnt bother me; I wasnt looking for a new friend or a therapist. Everyone else I spoke to was very nice (Natasha is the only other name I remember; sorry!!). My ONLY complaint would be that I would have appreciated a little more communication when she was styling, like, "I am going to blow-dry it from the top-down to smooth it out," or whatever, since it was my first time with this haircut. I dont plan to go anywhere else for my hair in the future, whether I keep the pixie cut or not. They were all great, and very accommodating and reassuring.

Im a flight attendant and on a recent lay over in New York I went to E&N Hair Salon where I met Gary, the only person I will ever let cut my hair again. Unlike most hair cutters who make it clear that their main objective is to finish and get their money Gary sat down with me for fifteen minutes and listened to intently as I described the problem Ive been having getting my hair cut the way I want it to be cut. I could tell he really wanted to cut my hair the way that I have been trying to get it cut. He very carefully walked me trough the whole cut explaining what he was doing every step of the way. I couldnt believe it when he was finished, I finally had my cut the way I wanted it. Thank you Gary for your patience, professionalism and understanding, this is one very happy flight attendant. I am hair obsessed and have been to many, many salons from high end to beauty schools across Manhattan and am thrilled that I found E & N Hair Salon about five years ago. The shop itself is modern and super clean. All of the stylists are talented and friendly (my personal favorite is Natasha but Gary, Anna, Bobby and Angela are equally as talented). Simply put, you will not find better colorists and stylists at the most affordable prices on the island of Manhattan. I do my color, conditioner treatments, glosses and cut, wash and styles on a regular basis and am thrilled with the attention I get from having great hair. I urge you to give E & N a try, but please do not take my standing appointment slots. Thank you. Kate McCauley

E&N is THE place for a great haircut, color or blowdry in a friendly environment that makes even the first-timer feel like its "their place." Natasha can do no wrong -- she really listens to her clients needs, makes suggestions and with each snip of the scissor & turn of the brush makes sure every client walks out looking and feeling good. Want the best massage shampoo in the city? Its worth it to book with Gary for just that ... he might even accomodate you if between clients, though that is rare. You get a big-name salon experience without all the hanger-on to tip along the way. From the beginning to the end you are catered to by your stylist. Im hooked and my hair looks great since Ive been going there this year.

E & N Salon is an awesome midtown hair spot! Maritza is great! She always does a great job with my color - this time just highlights, but in the past, highlights and low lights - very precise and neat with perfect, tiny sections and natural looking results. The prices are reasonable for the tri-state area, and pretty well priced for Manhattan. Maritza works with my schedule to get me in on short notice. This salon is clean, bright, and the team working is professional. I will keep going to Martiza. Highly recommended for a nice cut and great color work!
