Great place to get a good haircut for a more than reasonable price. Lisa and Diane are personable and focused on the customer. And the canine company is a big plus. I second Fred and Bill unreservedly!! I actually drive 370 miles to get my hair cut there. As for no website, who needs one when word-of-mouth is so great. Okay, good point about not knowing the rates ahead of time, but $14 is very reasonable whether you know ahead of time or when you walk in and see them posted on the wall. As for the cash-only policy, well. Lisa and Diane had no problem trusting me for the $14+tip while I walked around the corner to the ATM just 100 feet away. Now I make sure I have enough cash with me beforehand everytime I return.

I agree with Fred: Diane and Lisa run a great shop. I have been a customer for about 13yrs. At this point they know what I like but still check to make sure. With a couple of friendly dogs, some children running around on a Saturday morning and the good-natured conversation, this is a neighborhood treasure. I have to admit: I have not tried the chains, so I cant make a direct comparison. But, if you want to live in a real, honest-to-goodness neighborhood where people know you and share something of their lives, I cant think of a better place than The Barber Shop.
