The short - this place is fantastic. Lindsay was awesome. I would highly recommend the Stache to anyone looking for a quality beard trim or haircut at a bargain price. The long - My wife and I drove an hour and a half from Strasburg to try the Stache Barber Shop, thanks to a recommendation from a friend. I needed a beard trim and haircut and after growing my beard out untouched for over a year, I wasnt going to trust just anybody with a pair of scissors to do it right. The moment we walked into the shop, we were welcomed heartily and offered free hot coffee. The shop is laid out and decorated in a simple, clean and whimsical manner with many beard- and mustache-themed signs adorning the walls. I was instantly enchanted. Despite being fourth in line, we were never bored while we waited. Between the great choice of tunes playing on a Pandora station (90s and early 00s music) and the lively chatter between Lindsay, the other barber, and the patrons (us included while we waited!), there was never a dull moment. The actual haircut and beard trim were outstanding. I never once doubted that it would turn out great as Lindsay expertly trimmed, snipped, and sprayed at my hair and beard, all the while discussing her favorite Marvel movies and the recent Netflix shows shes been enjoying. The atmosphere was informal and lighthearted, definitely the kind of place any self-respecting beard owner would want to go for a trim. To top it all off, we got free handcrafted chocolate mustaches and the price was, in my opinion, a steal. I went in expecting to pay $40-50 minimum and walked out with a superb trim and haircut for $25. Unreal. A previous reviewer gave the Stache a 1/5 and went on to rant and rave about their perceived poor experience. Dont listen to this individual - clearly, they were expecting an overpriced, poor quality salon treatment and wouldve known what they were getting into had they read any previous reviews or the Facebook page. This is THE ONLY place I will be going for beard and hair work, despite my hour and a half drive. I will be making standing appointments here.

This is the same score I gave in Facebook during a previous visit. Based on this visit, my opinion has not changed. I got a fantastic straight-razor shave; got my goat-t shaped up and trimmed and some additional must-needed grooming. There are lot of imitators out there and I cannot afford to take a chance with my looks. So why risk it? I went to what I consider the best barber shop in the region and they took very good care of me. This is not your traditional barber shop. It is a very innovative concept with an owner who has some serious skills. I do honestly believe she has the best crew too. In fact, each of the barbers in this place are in the “A” category…all with their unique personality but same outstanding service. Once again, whether you are a kid or a college student or some professional whether from Richmond all the way to D.C. (regardless of your profession or lack off), they will groom you to a very high-standard. And more importantly you will be very happy: looks and attitude = winning. Worth Noting: Due to my job, I am not into haircut designs or fades or big into beards…but if you are into that cool stuff…trust me this is certainly the place for you too. Like any real barber shop, The Stache has the appropriate expertise to do this too based on what I have witnessed.

Went in here today (15 Aug. 2015) looking like a shaggy, homeless amish dude and gave Chelsea (sorry if I spelled it wrong!!) the most generic description of what I wanted done, which was a haircut and a beard trim, and she blew me away! She was very friendly and easy to talk to and took her time to do a good job... needless to say, she made me look incredible even with my impossible hair patterns. The shop as a whole had a very down to earth vibe and definitely had the type of banter you would expect to hear in a barber shop which I love, it just makes the whole experience more comfortable and gives a few laughs in the process. The staff did tone it down when younger people came in, out of respect, which was also very cool. I would highly recommend this place to any and all whether you have a beard needed to be trimmed, just need a haircut, or as in my case, both! The pricing is also very fair for the quality of work you are getting. Again, Chelsea was awesome and I will definitely be returning to her for my Hair/Beard trims!

Been searching for a good consistent haircut in the area for a while now. My little guy and I rolled in to try out. Albeit risky being a "holiday" haircut, it had to be done (12/2015). We walked in to a very welcoming person at the front desk. The barbershop/salon is a bit bare, but fine. Clean. Minimal. With that said I dont care seeing I am there for a hair cut and not a decorating class. But to some it matters. Anyway, Julie (blonde, shoulder length hair) hooked up my son and I with great haircuts. She was super nice. Considerate of how my wife might want it cut (because I dont care as much as a mom). She was extremely easy going cutting a 3 year olds mop. 5 star cut. I was next. Being an "I dont care you are the expert" kind of guy, she figured it out and gave me one of the best cuts I have had in 10 years. No hair down the neck. No random hairs. Great job. 5 star cut. So why just 4 stars? Waiting to see if it can be a repeat experience. I will update.

Let me start off by saying I got a great haircut here. The barber really takes their time, and uses some "old school" techniques. After your cut, you get a straight razor shape up, followed by some bay rum aftershave and a hot towel. This is what I love to see at a barbershop, and other shops should take note. Now, why I rated this shop 3 stars you ask? Mainly vulgarity. I am not accustomed to my barber cursing like a sailor while Im in the chair. Even with kids in the shop. It is poor business practice to drop the F word several times during a conversation. Bedside manor is where the shop lacks. I also think it could have been a bit more tidy, but its understandable depending on customer volume.

Absolutely loved going here. recently moved back into the area after being stationed down i tampa...needed a good haircut, came to the right place. i believe jessie was the name of my barber, she had just started there about a week ago, and she was amazing. did a great job on my haircut (military style fade), we had a good conversation during...and they were very cool with my kids being there. they have a corner with toys available...and one of the other barbers brought out some playdoh kit for the kids to play with. definitely going back there in a couple weeks.

Guys, I just made a drastic mistake. I went to the stache for a "trim" and just a word of warning, what ever you do dont ever let a guy working there name Matt touch your beard. Brandon and Lindsay were busy so I unfortunately let Matt "trim" my beard. I told him to just cut the ends and smooth it out. That idiot took off about 2" and it is still not smooth, there are stragglies. That guy should not be allowed to cut, trim or touch anyones beard. Looks like there will be no Beard contest for me this year thank to The Stache.
