First and foremost, this is the best haircut Ive ever had in my life. Jorge is a barber who knows his business, and does it right. Never before have I had a haircut like this. Usually I never speak with my barber, but I had a great conversation about colleges, parenthood, and everything in between with Jorge, and then the whole shop. The atmosphere is DEFINITELY not for everybody: If you dont like kids and a fun atmosphere, then its not for you. Between the toys on the shelf, the Xbox in the corner, and the promise that if you can beat the barber at foosball you get a free haircut, its definitely not a place you would describe as a "salon." But to tell you the truth, the absolute best part of the whole experience was that for all that great attitude, wonderful conversation, and fantastic haircut, I paid $20, including the 33% tip. Thats right: $15 for a haircut, from a guy who knows how to make a man look sharp, is fast, and has a great time doing it. The last time I had a haircut this good, I paid $90 for the privilege and got treated like $&%^ by the barber because I was unworthy to sit in his chair. I travel to Schenectady about once a month, and I will no longer be getting my hair cut at home: I will be coming here from now on. You may get a sharper haircut, a more rarefied atmosphere, or a cheaper cut elsewhere, but I can guarantee you wont get all that in one anywhere else.

Probably one of the best hair cuts Ive ever had. I had to wait a little longer than expected because I didnt make an appointment, but it was definitely worth the wait. The days following my haircut I got offered a new job with a raise, was asked out by 5 different women, and landed a modeling job with Calvin Klien, all because they said they like my hair... But seriously.... I learned a few things after getting my hair cut at Schenectady Barber Shop. 1) Jorge is the master of scissors and razors. He is definitely an artist in his own right! 2) Its still possible to get a great hair cut at an affordable price. And 3) Make an appointment if you plan on coming in at 5pm, because you may end up waiting :)!!! Great place! 5 STARS! PS... If youre a dog person, Elvis is a great dog!

I have been coming to get my hair cut from Jorge for at least 2 years when I first moved to Niskayuna. I have since moved a little further out of Schenectady, but continue to keep coming back because Jorge (and Sue) is the only barber I trust to give me the cut I want at the best price. Ive never met another down to earth, laid back, barber. They treat you right here. Meticulous hair cutting, straight razor neck shaves, and just a relaxing atmosphere. Hope you get a chance to experience what I do.

I am a truck driver who gets haircuts all over the 48 states but wherever i go i always try to find a high star rating barber shop because i am extremely picky about my hair style... This guy dont remember his name he is not a barber he is an artist!!! Showed him a pic of a hair style qnd he made it even better. I rarely leave a review but with this one i had to because of the amazing job he performed. If i am in the northeast region this is my guy from now on!!!

I have been going to SBS to see Jorge for three years now and not once has he ever let me down. The cuts are on point every single time and i feel as if each time i go i leave happier than the time before. They have a great atmosphere and it really is run the way a barber shop should be. I will be a loyal customer of SBS and Jorge for years to come - keep up the great work Jorge and if you havent stopped into the SBS yet - you are missing out!

This barber shop is off the hook! Very clean and organized, and I love the music selections played by Jorge. He goes all out in making you feel at home the moment you walk in, and you can tell he is passionate about what he does. Im glad I walked into this place and I will continue to go there as well as refer it to anyone in need of a great cut, but more importantly a great over all experience! Thanks Jorge.

I came in to get a clean and professional haircut before a job interview. Jorge did an outstanding job. Hes a truly friendly guy and you can really tell he takes a great amount of pride in his work. Ive been in the capital region for more than 25 years, and Matt, the owner, is the best barber anywhere. He listens to what you want and delivers. And hes consistent. Fair prices.You owe it to yourself to try his old fashioned style that even includes a shave-cream razor finish (if you like it). Bring the whole family.

Stop in to see Jorge or Matt both will give you a precise cut and a crisp clean hot towel shave. Old fashion barber shop here guys, if there is a wait lots of good music to listen to and good conversation too. Bring your son with you too he can have a great time with Oscar while you do what needs to get done.

Service is outstanding, expert barbering skills, great value! Ive paid 3x as much for a basic haircut in other cities. Schenectady Barbershop cant be beat for service and value and just a great overall experience! Jorge and Sue are awesome and its always nice to have Elvis the dog greet you at the door :)

Ive been going to this place for the past 3 years. Jorge and his fellow hair ninja, Sue, are both awesome barbers. The atmosphere is kind of like the barber shop from Coming to America, always something fun going on except without all the swearing. Never going to another barber while Im in the area.

Jorge and Sue are professional and skilled. They are also very friendly and accommodating! The shop is spacious, charming and unique with plenty of distractions to pass the time if you have to wait as a walk-in. They will let you schedule an appointment if you call at least a day ahead.

Sue is the best barber I have ever had. She takes the time to listen to what you want compared with other places that tell you what you want. Always a great conversation as well, will miss her since I am moving but I definitely recommend her and the shop.
