Visited Talking Heads for the first time on Saturday and I have to say I was pretty mad at myself for not knowing that this place existed sooner. It is a great atmosphere! Bright walls, tons of natural light coming in, and a very professional and friendly staff. When I popped in, I got a cut from Andrew. I have been getting my haircut by Andrew for over a year now and he recently joined Talking Heads, so I HAD to and I mean HAD to follow him, literally gives me the best fade I have ever had in my life. Andrew has consistently given me a great cut every time I stop in to see him and I am one of those guys who likes to go every two weeks, so I see him often. You can see the pride he takes in his craft anytime you get in his chair. He pays attention to every detail of the cut and shave, making sure every hair is laying just right. I have gone to him for several different styles (side parts, combovers, skin fades, messy textured, etc.) and have been thrilled with the outcome every time. He will listen to what you want in a haircut and can adapt to whatever style you land on, from traditional to modern, you really cant go wrong with him. If you are ever in the area, I highly recommend stopping in!

If youre in need of a perfect cut, this is the place to go. Man, woman, child, old or young, all of the barbers/stylists are incredible here. They listen to exactly what you want and execute with passion and precision. The atmosphere of the joint is always awesome. They play the best music and have some of the best conversations. I would never trust my hair with anyone else than inside this shop. They also have the dopest woman usually working at the desk and a kid that comes in and entertains the whole room. One would be lucky to catch a day with him there. Overall this is the spot to get your mop split and to hang out. The prices are amazing and each barber is incredible in there own way. If youre local, stop in. They would love to have you!!

I went in to see Carolyn for a color and I can honestly say it was the best salon experience I have ever had, truly. The products are wonderful. No horrible chemical smells, no burning sensation, none of my hair came out while she brushed it wet! On top of all that the atmosphere is calm and inviting which adds to the overall experience. She gave me the perfect shade to match my skin tone. For so long stylist have just told me my hair pulls brassy so there is nothing they can do. That did not happen with her. And did I mention the scalp massage? That alone was worth the trip! All that said, I want to thank Carolyn and let her know I enjoyed the service, conversation and I appreciative her passion for and knowledge of her profession.

When it comes to cutting hair my man Andrew is the epitome of excellence. I’ve gone to plenty of barbers all over Ocean & Monmouth County and for some reason or another I was never satisfied with my haircut. A friend of mine told me about Andrew and to give him a try. Never before has a barber paid so much attention to detail or actually given me advice on styling it. With that being said Talking Heads Barber Shop fits Andrew to a tee. The guys in there have built a relaxed atmosphere where you can be yourself and enjoy getting a haircut. If for some reason Andrew wasn’t available to cut my hair I would feel comfortable going to one of the other guys, something I normally wouldn’t do. I can’t recommend them enough.

Have you ever had a Picasso painted or "created" on your head.......no? You want to know what it feels like? This is the place to be! New to the area and went 2 months without a cut because, well because you just dont cheat on your barber. But these guys know what theyre doing. The best cut Ive received, pretty much ever. Sean took care of me, the conversation was great, hes from my hometown (go figure) and I wish I could live in this area just to keep coming back. The atmosphere is great, every one is extremely friendly, and they do nothing short of art work. If youre thinking about trying this shop, stop thinking and just go!

Ive been coming to Talking Heads for my haircuts for quite a while now, and they have never failed to impress me with the way they do things there. The atmosphere is pleasant and fun, the music is always good, and cheerful conversation can always be found. While Andrew can be considered their star performer (I followed him from his previous shop because hes the only man in New Jersey whos capable of styling my hair properly), all the staff there has a real talent for cutting hair, and it definetly shows in the quality of the work they do there. I would happily recommend Talking Heads to anyone who needs a quality haircut.

Straight up the single best barbershop in Asbury Park and possibly NJ! Joes scissor work is ON POINT with perfect clipper fades to boot. Ive been to other shops in the area numerous times and have had a few halfway decent haircuts but I have not had a haircut this good in over 8 years and 3 different cities ago from coast to coast. The atmosphere is super chill, welcoming and friendly. Zero arrogance or tough guy bad attitudes. When youre great youre great and let your work do the talking. 100% excellent barbers with nothing but humbleness and gratitude. So glad I stopped by today. Bless you guys and thanks again!

What a great barber shop!!! I have had my haircut here multiple times and it always comes out incredible. I cant say enough about John(the owner). He is always welcoming and his skills are spot on. Andrew Sullivan is also super talented and never disappoints. I have received more compliments on my hair since going to Talking Heads Barber Shop than ever before. This is because these guys care about what they do and pay attention to the details. I highly recommend giving them a try. Youll be glad you did. Thanks John and Andrew for making me look my best!!

My boyfriend got his hair cut by Joe here today, and I cannot say enough wonderful things about our entire experience. The atmosphere was friendly and positive, the shop was super clean with fun, trendy decor. And the haircut was perfect, it came out better than I could have imagined. You may think "Its just a haircut" but it is so much more. A good haircut makes someone feel good about themselves, and can evoke a new sense of confidence - and thats exactly what it did. I wish I could give the shop and Joe more than 5 stars!!

This place and these people embody what everyone loves about a REAL barber shop: a palpable sense of community and a reminder that humans are happiest when socializing with each other. John is the best barber Ive ever had and the 3 other guys seem highly skilled as well. If youre not sure that youve ever been to a REAL barber shop, you will know it by this sign: a host of ridiculous local characters stop in for a few laughs and a brief respite from their lives. An experience you must not miss.
