I just stumpled upon this site and was shocked to read "Where is the Compassion?" I have the answer, right at Destination Dance. My daughter who is 13 has just started her 3rd year at DD. She came from a very large studio where she was "lost in the crowd". I took the leap and tried a new studio after 4yrs at the other one and what a great experience it has been. The individual attention Miss Katie gives to her students is wonderful. It was so sad how much she didnt learn at the other studio and what she learned her first year at DD. At the start of my daughters 2nd year, she ended up having nerve damage from Oral Surgery from October 19, 2009 until she turned the corner and was cured at the end of June 2010. My daughter went to class when she could but rarely participated because of the constant pain she was in 24/7. Miss Katie went above and beyond what a teacher should have. She called the house several times over those months to see how she was and never charged me for her recital costume because she didnt attend many classes. If she was "money hungry" she would have just given me the bill like she should have but didnt. My daughter is inspired by Miss Katie as well as her many many other students. Just go see for yourself!

I enrolled my kids with Miss Katie since the first year she was open. She is now starting her 3rd year in business and my kids have had nothing but a GREAT experience with the studio. Each of my girls started with one class, last year they took 2 each and this year we have expanded to 4 each! And, now that she is starting a boys hip-hop/breakdance class, my son will be there too! Miss Katie is wonderful with the kids, and while teaching them dance, she is also teaching them responsibility that is age-appropriate. My family is looking forward to growing with Destination Dance, Im just sorry she wasnt in business when my older daughter was younger. She would have had that many more years of dance under her belt! I have recommended Destination Dance to many girls, and will continue to do so!

As Destination Dance enters its 5th year; we continue to educate the dancers of tomorrow in a non competitive atmosphere where they can truly grow and build confidence. We encourage our students through the learning process while doing our best to instill the passion of dance in their hearts. Destination Dance offers a Summer session and a Fall program that runs September - June. Many of my students have gone off to college and continued to develop their passion for dance. They have been accepted into dance programs at NYU, Adelphi University, C.W. Post (dance team and dance program), CAP 21, AMDA - NY, Fairleigh Dickinson (dance Team Co-Captain), Oneonta Terps and dance Program. Hope youll dance through our room one day!

My daughter danced there since the opening of this studio. The dance instruction is great, however Ms.Katie needs to get some instruction herself in supporting the emotional growth of the students in her care. It seems to be all about the money! She should realize that these children need to feel like they matter . As of this date, Ms. Katie is not capable of handling this issue. I am not the only parent that feels this way. Be careful when making payment! DO NOT PREPAY, this would be a big mistake!

My daughter no longer attends classes here but Miss Katie does a great job and is very dedicated to what she does. I would definetly recommend this dance studio.
