Like many Ive had the unfortunate experience of having to deal with body shops for accidents and such. I cant say Ive ever had a great experience, yes dealing with an accident is upsetting, but having shoddy or sloppy work done makes a bad situation worse. I recently started a restoration project on two VWs and stopped into Third Generation Auto (TGA) to get a quote, after seeing a chassis out-front on a rotisserie being moved around. Most body shops wont touch restoration work because of the level of experience required and slow shop throughput. I was greeted by a professional and courteous staff that was very inserted in my project and introduced me to the owner Rob Tringali. TGA is actually fourth generation and you can tell. The operation is clean, well organized and the entire staff is extremely knowledgeable. This is not your typical "counter operation" where you pass your keys over and hope for the best. The operation is open, airy and inviting. The entire staff in engaging/accessible and willing to answer questions and show you what they are working on. I had many visits to the shop and it was always the same, seemed like everybody was greeted like family and left with with a smile. Needless to say the entire experience was great, I asked for a custom paint job based on an OEM color with a semi-gloss finish and its came out fantastic!. I cant tell you how hard it is not only to find somebody willing to take on custom work, but to execute it in way that is flawless. Rob handled the communications personally and was very accommodating when it came to finish options, crystal clear on what he would and would not do, and frankly went over and above to make the car come out great. I was really happy with the level of service, price and attention to detail. I plan to bring my second project car there next and look forward to another great result. I know most insurance companies steer you to their shops, but if you have a choice or have a custom car project, I highly recommend Rob and the TGA crew!!!

I had my first accident and i took my Jeep to Third Generation body shop. They couldnt be any better. The manger told me what they were going to do the repair and how they were going to do it. When i got my Jeep back when it was done i was totally shocked at the repair they done. They made the Jeep look like brand new. My wife and were shocked at the way it looked, it couldnt look any better. We live in Mastic and i wish they were closer and we would refer customers to them, even so we will anyway. We could not be any happier.George & Barbara.

If you are family member or close friend whatever its your choice. but if you are looking for the place to fix your car, not here. you can go anywhere but here. labor charge/ hr is extreamly high, not doing any better job than you. just fix it your own or find somewhere else. all they want is money from you, you cannot even trust that they are using used part or new one. worst part is they still charge you for new part. I dont know. try it if you want but nothing to lose if you dont find somewhere else.

Had to get some work done on my car. These guys went above and beyond to have my car fixed the RIGHT WAY. They explained everything to me and did all the work that had to get done and more - even buffed out some other spots on the car with minor issues. Quality Work with Quality Service. Would definitely take may car back. THANK YOU!

Not only do they take incredible care with their work, they are honest, straightforward, and the staffs work excels. I have been to other auto body shops before, and will never go anywhere else again.
