I would love to give this location 5 stars. I come here 3-4 days a week. After today, and the other experiences that Ive had, I dont think so! This is maybe one of the nicest locations in Charlotte. However, Planet Fitness as a whole sucks! Sure you get the basics for 10-20 a month, so that is awesome. This particular location has an ab and leg area. The mats in the ab area are disgusting!! They are made of vinyl fabric that holds the cleaner, so you never really know if theyre clean, and if you go to sit or lay on one you might get wet... I dont know if that moisture is from the cleaner or someone elses sweat... Yuck! So for the last few days Ive been bringing my own yoga mat, problem solved, except not. I walked in and they say you cant bring your own equipment due to insurance. I understand that, but Im not bringing in kettlebells or my own bench. All around I experienced issues with receiving late fees because they changed their payment portal/website without informing anyone, and the front desk rep didnt even know what I was talking about. On a separate occasion, I paid online, and saw a balance online but I wasnt able to pay it, so I went into the gym that morning to pay, and they couldnt accept payment.. huh?! They also dont let you pay late fees in the store. I mean seriously though, what type of gym gives out tootsie rolls, bagels!!, annnd pizza?!? I tried to ignore that, but cmon at least introduce healthier options. Theyre so focused on making people comfortable than actually achieving their fitness goals. Not to mention they make it impossible to cancel your membership, you have to go back to the location you signed up at or send a notarized letter... what type of crap is that?!? #scam

I dont give this planet fitness 1 star because the gym is bad because its not, I enjoyed working out here and I loved it a lot but sadly they lost a customer because I felt like they were dishonest with taking money from me. I was being charged multiple times in my account and every time I spoke with someone about it, it was "handled" Just to get wrongfully charged again. The last time I spoke with someone in corporate, he was so remorseful and opened me up a new account with a different bank account number I gave them and credited my account until June...Few days later BAM! Another charge. When I finally went up there with my bank statements to prove it, the guy was nice and I appreciated him for attempting to explain the mistake but it became more of a blame game with my bank. And to top it off, there was no offer to credit the membership a few months or even to refund me back the money I lost because of it. Just "You shouldnt have any problems from now on." Well..I shouldnt have had this problem to begin with...and now I am out of $164 because of Planet Fitness and I am suppose to just take that as a loss? Not to mention the account the guy in corporate supposedly open was not found and I am worried were my account information went too! I called him twice but he never called back....It saddens me to leave here because I really do like the gym but that whole situation was unacceptable...every one had a different story and nothing really seemed to get fixed. I bet if I didnt cancel I would STILL be getting charged.

I moved my membership to this place from the one down the street because it looked nicer. When I went to the gym to join I rode my bicycle to make sure that would work since I usually do ride my bike to the gym to work out. There was nothing to lock it to outside so I took it in and asked about that before signing up. They said I would be able to lock it to a large trash container in the foyer which had a big rail around it. Broke my elbow shortly afterward and couldnt work out for months. When I went in with my bike two people at the front desk started yelling at me for bringing my bike inside. I told them that was what we agreed upon when I joined and couldnt work out there if there was no place to secure my bike. They promptly produced a termination of membership form for me to sign and that was the end of my Planet Fitness experience. Wrote a complaint to their main office but never got a response. There is no scale in the place and no free weights other than dumb bells.

HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE ! MY HUSBAND GOT THE BLACK MEMBERSHIP AND HE BROUGHT ME WITH HIM AS A GUEST FOR THE FIRST TIME . WE ASKED ABOUT THE MASSAGE CHAIR AND THE GYM ATTENDANT GAVE ME AND MY HUSBAND 2 COINS EACH , WHEN WE FINISH WE WENT FOR THE MASSAGE CHAIR AT THAT TIME IT WAS A DIFFERENT ATTENDANT SHE GAVE ME HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE VERY UNPROFESSIONAL! SHE ASKED ME TO GET OUT OF THE MASSAGE ROOM AND TOLD ME TO GIVE HER BACK THE COINS. I KNOW CUSTOMER SERVICE FOR 6 YRS . SHE COULD OF LET ME USED THE MASSAGE CHAIR FOR THAT TIME ONLY AND SAID I CANT USE IT NEXT TIME, THATS FINE TO ME BUT FROM THIS EXPERIENCE SHE MADE ME FEEL VERY LOW AND TOMORROW I WILL GO TO TALK TO THE MANAGER AND CANCEL THE MEMBERSHIP.

Meh. If you want to be in a cramped (for the amount of equipment) space, and just want to use machines this is the place for you. Free weights (and space to use them) is limited. Deadlift on a Smith machine? No thanks. There was a much larger gym in a city I used to live in that was 30k people that was so much better. Having a hard time finding something remotely comparable unless I want to pay 100+/month. The massage stuff and all that is fine--when it works. Staff does seem genuinely nice.

Love this gym! If your looking for a trainer i highly recommend Victor , Regarding his looks he knew exactly how to hit all the muscles i wanted to tone up. Very Excellent, been working out with him about 4 times and going to continue! Has amazing knowledge on keeping fit , Helps you stay motivated and wanting to keep going! Very respectful and Honest. absolutely Love his techniques! I Highly , highly recommend Victor as a trainer! Im going to continue to go to this gym!!

The young ladies at the front desk are really helpful however the trainer is really rude and condescending. He does not help you unless you are a female and he talks bad about the clients. He told me that my workouts suck and then asked other members how do I look and laughed with them. I thought this was a judgement free zone that sounds very judgmental to me. I am defiantly canceling my membership and going to Fitness connection which is right down the street.

I cancelled my membership the same month I started it because when I signed up I asked specifically about having a place to store my bike while I work out. I was told that most locations had bike racks and this one probably would. Well, they didnt get one and I, at the time, didnt have a car. So if I have no place to park my transportation, I will not patronize your business. Businesses in major cities need to realize that more people cycle for transportation.
