I give the shop 5 stars hands down and my initial barber 3 stars. I spent a lot of time searching for the right shop; having had the same barber for the last 13 years in another state. Being in Charlotte since August I just hadnt found that shop until Southpark Barbers. The shop is clean, inviting and they even offer you a cold one!!! When I booked my appointment I ensured I asked about the barbers experience with skin fades as I am narcotic about my hair. I got the last appointment of the night the guy took his time and probably gave me the best hair cut of my life. I paid the man and booked another cut with him two weeks from that evening. I showed up two weeks later for my appointment the other day and he didnt even have me in his scheduler, luckily he didnt have anyone in the chair and could take me right in. The guy didnt even remember me to slightest degree, where as the barber in the first seat did and he didnt cut my hair. I asked for the same hair cut Ive been getting for the last 15 years; #5 on top with a skin fade nothing more or extra. At first glance the cut looked perfect, I paid and left; I tried to book another appointment but was told to call as he did not have 2017 scheduler yet. I got home a few hours later and realized the very top of my head was shorter then a #5 and the very front was longer then the rest of my head (a hair cut i probably got in 7th grade)... Thinking I had what would be a start to a good client relationship with my barber, I texted him informing him I was not pleased with the cut and wanted to know his availability week of 12/23 as I wouldnt be able to wait till the new year for another cut. Not realizing it was after hours his response was curt and left little to be desired of a returning client. I went in the next day and he fixed it for free. However, what really pissed me off is that he insisted it was his first time cutting my hair and that the hair cut I really wanted was a #4 on top and skin fade. This guy has got to be f****** kidding me, Ive been getting the same hair cut for over 13 years and now that I live in Charlotte its all of a sudden changed. After being put in uncomfortable scene in front of his clients, I spoke to the owner and will be using him going forward. The owner is very professional, felt bad for the experience I had and apologized for what happened (something the first barber didnt even do to begin with); he should take a note out of his book. No matter how great you can be cutting, if you lack professionalism and client relationship build you wont get very far. I take this time out of my evening to write this review because I was asked to by the original barber before the displeasure penny cut and because I live 30 minutes from the shop and it took me longer to drive round trip to the shop then to get my hair fixed today. I chose not to mention names as I will continue to use the barber shop!!! To future clients be specific in what you ask for and look in the mirror prior to paying or leaving.

Ive been coming here for about one and a half years now, and I have no intention of going elsewhere. Over the course of the past 2.5 years since I moved to Charlotte, I have been to 5 or 6 different barbers and have never really been satisfied with the results. During my search for a proper barber, I found this place (I was literally searching "barber" on google maps and trying different places), and Ive been going there ever since. Both Parrish and Tyson give great haircuts, and getting the straight razor treatment on your neck and sideburns is just the icing on the cake. Another reviewer mentioned cost: While its true that this place is more expensive than the other barbers I have went to, the fact of the matter is they were all $10 haircuts and I was never really satisfied with the results. You get what you pay for (and: dont complain about this in front of women if youre a guy, because theyll tell you about paying $50-60+ for getting their hair cut at salons and will mock you mercilessly). But yes: go to South Park Barbers and give them a try!

I got my haircut by Marc and he didnt really pay attention to how I said I wanted it cut. He just did his own thing. Then I asked for him to cut it lower (just on the sides) and he said he had another patient coming. So he basically said no because it would be like giving me another haircut. His other patient wasnt even there at the time. So instead of making his customer happy, he just wanted me out of his seat. Then I asked for him to taper the back and he put a line across it. He never bothered to show me the back of my hair so I was not so pleasantly surprised when I got home and checked out what the back of my head looked like. Otherwise the shop is very nice and the staff is friendly.

Moved to Charlotte from about an hour or so north. Been working a lot so havent had time to go to a barbershop in a long time and I am NOT going somewhere like (Not So) Great Clips. Came in, waited like 5 minutes--got seated to get a cut by Marc. Best haircut Ive had in a long time--maybe ever. He cares about what hes doing. He took his time, got it right and constantly made little adjustments here and there until he was satisfied. I thought it looked better than most cuts Ive had, well before he was done. Took his card, left a pretty decent tip, and Ill be back. Great barber!!! Marc will hook you up!

Moved down from NYC area about a year ago and couldnt find anywhere around here that could give a decent cut. Had a friend Put me on to the shop and I havent even thought about going anywhere else since. Clean/classy atmosphere , great barbers , great service. Hands down best shop in the Charlotte area. Marc never disappoints. Takes his time , never makes the experience feel rushed and you can tell he takes pride in his work. Not like some shops that just want to rush you out like your on an assembly line. I highly recommend this shop if your looking for a legit cut.

I think this is the only review I have ever left, moved to the area and tried several barbers unsuccessfully. Ended up finding South Park Barbers through google reviews, checked it out and had a great experience, clean, professional, the only place I found in the area that knows how to properly maintain/shave/clean up a full beard. Gave me a great haircut, and offered free touch-ups in between full cuts. I cant speak for the other barbers but if they are anything like Parrish West (the owner) this place is worth checking out for an affordable/great haircut.

By far the best place to get a haircut. From the second you step in theres class! You get to your chair (Ask for Erica Davis) and she will ask you like anyone else how you want your hair. You get the game plan....then you have to ask for her suggestions....you would be surprised. Some things you would never think about. But she is a pro. We did a style Ive never done before and Im really happy about it. Never need to change to anyone else again. I will definitely be coming to Erica for now on! SouthPark Barbershop is the place to go in Charlotte!
