Go to Posh the Salon if you want to feel like being in a circus and treated like your time and money is not valuable. Because Posh the Salon is Downtown, they will charge you more, act like they are super cool, and give you attitude for their own mistakes. Posh The Salon is not the right place to enjoy a nice and relaxing "me" time. I had made an appointment online, for which I had received a confirmation. I had to make arrangements to leave work a little bit early. When I show up, they say they cannot find me in the system and that the next available appointment is 1.25 hours later. I show them the confirmation e mail I have received for my appointment since the man at the front desk was acting like I was lying.. I asked to talk to the owner to know if I least I could get a discount on waiting 1.25 hours because of their mistake. The man at the front desk gave me an attitude and said he would not talk to the owner to not interrupt her service and that I needed to wait 20 more minutes to be able to talk to the owner. I decided my time was more valuable than waiting for them to apologize for their mistake. They treat their costumers badly, I will not be wasting my time again with this business. I went to Salon Povera instead, and they were nice, personable, and treated me like a real customer.

This is the worst salon experience I have ever had! I called and got an appointment the same day because the lady said she had plenty of time for a color and cut. I got there and had to wait 10 minutes then finally she had me come back and I told her what I wanted done and told her it was important because I was going to be in a wedding soon. She told me she had no time to do what I wanted so she left and went to talk to someone for about 5 more minutes. She came back and told me that she only had an hour and she could do some of what I wanted like the roots touched up on the top but I would need to come back to get the bottom layer done and to get a trim. I told her that was fine because my roots did look very bad. She did the roots and then blow dried my bangs so I could "see the color". The rest of my hair was soaking wet I couldnt tell what color it was at all and to top it off it was 80 dollars. As soon as I got to the car and it had dried a little more I could see the color more. Its the ugliest blonde I have ever seen. The top of my head is a yellow color and the bottom is dark. Its not what I asked for at all! Now I have to go to another salon and pay more money just to get it fixed. I will never be back and I would never refer anyone that I actually liked to go to this salon!

Finally! A forever stylist. I see Laura at Posh and she not only styles my hair well, but gives me great advice on products, tools, how to ensure my hair is healthy, and how to color it for when I am ready. Ive lived in the Triangle area for 10 years and have been seeing Laura for the past year. When I first started seeing her I was unhappy that my last stylist at another salon had cut it so short. Laura made the experience positive and helped me see the positive side of being able to come back regularly for trims to ensure I would have long healthy locks. I can show her pictures of styles I like and she asks me what I like about the style - and she gave me great tips on parting my hair differently to make it look slightly different vs. having to cut it a particular way. And for the introverts out there - I used to dread going to get my hair cut, b/c the thought of making small talk for 45 minutes made me cringe. You wont have that experience with Laura, shell tell you stories and keep you engaged as much as you want without making you feel like it is small talk. The establishment is great and the staff are very friendly. When I go to Posh the decor, the energy, etc., contributes to the experience and Im not just "going to get my hair cut." Thank you Posh!!

I discovered Posh only this January when my stylist KRIS JENNINGS, with whom I have been for 12 years now, moved there from another salon (where she had been that whole time). I loved the salons atmosphere from the moment I walked in; being a Durham resident, I am thrilled to be using the services of a company in the newly-renovated downtown area. I love old warehouses that have been restored, and this one is perfect for a salon. I even love the little stations they have set up for each stylist. I see Kris Jennings, who I absolutely LOVE. As I said, Ive been with her for 12 years. I started going to her when I asked a law school classmate, whose hairstyle I always loved, who did her hair, and she referred me to Kris - and I havent looked away since! I would (and do) refer anyone to Kris with 100% confidence. Its great to have this relationship with someone for so long because they get to know your hair, what it will and wont do, which hairstyles will look best on me, etc. - but we also get to know one anothers kids, stories, personalities, etc. I love Kris, and based on the two times Ive been so far, I also love Posh! I recommend the salon to anyone searching for a VERY NICE salon, yet one that is more reasonably-priced than some high-price establishments.

Today was my second visit to Posh, and it was completely disappointing. My stylist, Ashleigh V, was 20 minutes late picking me up for my hair appointment, and I had to go the front desk twice to ask what the hold up was. When I finally sat down in the chair and took my hair out the very first thing she did was criticize me for waiting too long to get my layers trimmed. Then, instead of shampooing my hair, she basically rubbed a handful of shampoo on my head, no scrubbing or anything. I asked for long layers, and instead got a blunt cut. The blow dry was barely that, I left with very damp hair. All told, Ashleigh spent about 30 minutes with me. I understand that appointments are back to back and its not uncommon to fall behind, but if I wanted a mediocre cut by a lazy stylist I would have gone to Supercuts and saved $30. I honestly could have forgiven the lateness and the lousy service, had she actually given me the cut I asked for... I will say that when I called to complain, I spoke with Crystal who was very apologetic and didnt hesitate to schedule a new appointment to fix my non-existent layers.

Please do not go here. The people are nice, but the talent is not. All I wanted was a partial highlight to brighten up my natural ombre and left with horrendous hair. The first girl I saw bleached the entire bottom of my hair and bleached the top front, and left me with a bleed line of bleach on my natural root. So after this I saw someone else, the color expert, who was supposed to fix it. The bleed line didnt get fixed and when I asked for natural looking low lights, I now have black/ dark brown streaks throughout my hair that was bleached blonde by the first girl. I was there from basically 11:15 to 6:00 getting all of this done, I had driven home in the middle and thats when I found the bleed line. When I got to work my boss asked me why I dyed my hair two colors. You are supposed to leave a salon confident and I left self conscious. I will not let anyone in that place touch my hair after this experience. I never write these posts, but I do not want someone else to experience what I just did. It was horrendous.
