Long story short: This company is unprofessional and does not communicate well or return calls/emails. Many previous reviews here by other people state as much, and Id have to say theyre legit. Read on further for my detailed experience (with an 11-30-16 update at the end, after this review was posted originally 10-28-16.) The agency was initially business professional when I visited fall 2015 and it did place me early 2016, of which that ended. Give credit where it is due there. I did what I had to do over the summer, working elsewhere. That proved to not be a fit for me and ended. I decided to try mid-October 2016 to return to Dawson, but I had a personal issue I really needed to address to ensure Dawson was still the best route for me, and thats when the communication issues began. In 2 1/2 weeks, I left one email and two voice mails with my recruiter (and the front desk said on the third contact theyd allegedly send a message as well to my recruiter.) With nothing returned, escalated calls to the site manager, and later the HR manager, went without response. Respectable amounts of time for all messages to be returned (as in days, not hours) were given, and no indications of vacations/time off were stated on voice mails for anyone. I called the front desk today and was told I was active. I requested inactivation. They said theyd leave a message with my recruiter to call me. I essentially said do what you want, but really dont bother as I am not holding my breath for a callback or email anyway. I was done with Dawson. Your experience may vary, and if you have a great one, more power to you, but Id hate for someone else to go there and have the same situation eventually happen to them. And I hate writing nastygram reviews, but, I couldnt let this one slide. I hope if this is seen, they amend their ways dramatically. This isnt a one-time thing or a me thing; this is a pattern from what I can tell, and it needs to stop. This is NOT the sign of a good staffing agency whose base concept is to be people-centric -- especially those who ARE actively seeking employment and dont want to be jobless, and will bust their tail to find proper work, like me. On that note, one final comment: A Google review that existed on here at the time of this writing (10-28-16) that was posted three months prior by a Megan Anderson says, and I quote, "If you are looking for a job to be laid in your lap without having to invest any time or move your butt from the couch while watching Netflix, I would recommend gathering some work ethic first." Well, I DO have work ethic, and I DO get off my butt and search for jobs. But you cannot get a job if no one calls you. So yes, Ms. Anderson, you had a great experience. I am happy for you. Just know that your words in theory sound good, but its a two-way street. There are lazy people who expect staffing agencies to work magic, and then there are hard-working people who get nothing out of their staffing agencies. For me, Dawson is proving to be the latter. UPDATE 11-30-16: During the month of November 2016, a marketing director with Dawson did reach out to me, replying to this very review and emailing me directly. I spoke with this director and openly attempted to resolve the issues, but as time passed, not only did I realize my personal situation required me to go in a radically different direction not involving staffing agencies, but the damage with Dawson had already been done. The bottom line is it should NOT have taken writing this Google review to get Dawsons attention. I can only hope that the open dialogue with the marketing director will help fix the situation for future clients, but time will be proof of that.

I went to Dawson after leaving a job I was EXTREMELY unhappy in through a different staffing agency. I liked Dawson because most everything was able to be completed online, even prior to my interview. On my interview day, my recruiter Emma took down a lot of notes as to what I was looking for in a position. She helped me record my "interview video" several times over until I decided I liked it. Unlike other agencies, Dawson does all drug testing in house with instantaneous results. Many other agencies send you to urgent care where you have to sit for an hour to take a 5 second drug test and then wait for another 3-5 days for the result before you can even start being submitted for positions. Emma submitted me for 2 positions the same day as my interview! Emma was great with communicating the whole time, mostly through email but also sometimes by phone, constantly asking if Id be interested in various positions and then submitting me for them. I had a couple of interviews and then landed a position that met all of my non-negotiables - 8-5 schedule, no weekends, and with my minimum salary requirement met. I see a lot of negative reviews here, but my experience was not negative at all. Thing is, when you go to any staffing agency, you cant expect a job to be handed to you on a silver platter. You have to also put significant effort and time in. It is a 2-way street with your results reflecting the amount of effort and dedication you show as well. I submitted all paperwork accordingly, I smiled, I wore my nicest suit to all my interviews, I answered my recruiters emails within the hour, I also monitored the Dawson website and sent her additional positions I may be interested in, and the effort was equally reciprocated. While job hunting is definitely stressful, Emma really made me feel like I was part of a team as opposed to struggling on my own. I was very happy with my experience and encourage those that are actually serious about finding work and willing to put in the effort to work with Dawson. If you are looking for a job to be laid in your lap without having to invest any time or move your butt from the couch while watching Netflix, I would recommend gathering some work ethic first.

I went in hoping to have them find me a job. Well found one, but due to traffic that I was stuck in for a while. I was not going to make it to the interview. I had no number to call the company to let them know that I couldnt make it. When the dawson lady called I told her I didnt have a number to call them. So days went by and I had to again contact her for a job position. She then tells me she had released me. How was this a no call no show if you didnt provide me with a number to contact the company so I could let them know. I made me upset because I had to constantly contact her to see if she found anything. My sister went thru them and woman she has is still sending her jobs even though she already has one. Maybe I had gotten one who finds it a waste of time to let their client know about open job opportunities. Not good cs in my opinion. I have done cs for 10 years.

While my recruiter did do a great job helping me get employment. I do not recommend them AT ALL. The employer that hired me on as a contractor contacted them after 30 days and Dawson decided I was an exception on their deal on early buy outs so I had to wait to be hired. Then I finally hit my 550 hours they require and in the process we had a holiday I should have been paid for (after 504 hrs). I actually worked 560 hours and worked the day before and after the holiday. Well, guess what....Another loophole to cheat you on.....they "look back" 13 weeks....in other words the whole time! You cant miss ONE DAY or you are not eligible for holiday pay! What A CROCK. So when they tell you that they give you holiday pay. DONT COUNT ON IT! They have locked in enough loopholes in there to make sure they dont!
