For Spots pertaining to Extreme Reach and SpotGenie distribution specs: • 5 seconds of slate. (that means the frame goes to black at 00;00;05;00, not 00;00;04;29, not 00;00;05;01, but 00;00;05;00 @29.97.) • Then comes 2 seconds of black. (00;00;05;00 to 00;00;06;29 @29.97.) • The spot then comes in at 00;00;07;00. (Again, thats 00;00;07;00. Thats when the spot starts... at 00;00;07;00.) • Depending on the length of the spot, typically 30 seconds or 15 seconds, the spot will end on the 29th frame of the last second @29.97. (So for a 30 second spot, that would be 00;00;36;29 @29.97. For a 15 second spot, that would be 00;00;21;29 @29.97. Not 00;00;36;28, not 00;00;22;01, but right on that 29th frame. Right. On. It.) • For 23.98 frame rates, just substitute the number 23 in place of the number 29 for the information above! I know this may all sound tricky, but with some practice and basic working knowledge of your video editing software, Ron Foth... youll be sending out correctly timed spots in no time!
