Ive searched far and wide for a truly authentic and modern take on the classic barbershop experience. And although there are quite a few excellent shops out there, nothing from my experience compares to American Traditional located in downtown Eugene. With its vintage style, punk rock radio, and skilled stylists, this business absolutely nailed it. After an hour long cut and shape for both my head and beard, I literally had to double-take when I saw my receipt. The prices were just that good. The staff is incredibly friendly (cant stress that enough), with a good sense of humor and a very high skill set. The atmosphere is laid back and open, with plenty of comfortable seating, artwork, and/or magazines to browse. They also have a large selection of hair style and beard maintenance products, some of which are locally made and organic. All in all, I will certainly be returning business to this establishment. Five out of five stars.

Read the great reviews, went to get a haircut as a walk-in. (Walk-in also being new business.) I arrived there were no other customers. There were two employees and no customers. I asked for a haircut and was told to make an appointment for 2-days later. When I asked why I couldnt just get a haircut now, I was informed they "had clients coming." I will state that the employees were polite, but I think it is a poor business practice to turn away new business like that.

I was in Oregon for my wedding and needed a quick clean up on my haircut and beard. I have my main Barber Ive been going to for years back at home (Utah) and was very hesitant to go somewhere new AND before my wedding. I contacted the shop and had an appointment for the next day! Ashley took care of me and was able to do exactly what I needed and had my looking my best for the big day! Thanks Ashley and everyone at American Traditional!

Excellent traditional barber, highly capable of different looks and great perspective for matching hair to head and face shape! The guy who cut my hair set it up in such a way that it looks clean and tapered well, and will grow in looking nice. Very friendly staff and good conversation. 5 star experience and reasonably priced. I will be going here and only here for my haircuts in Eugene!

Nothing but smiles! First time there I walked in without an appointment and they made room for me on a busy friday! They all know what they are doing, I was impressed with the focus and thr time they take to do the job the right way, just like I would in front of my own mirror. Great hair cut, great conversation. He used a straight razor to level up my sideburns and had an elaborate process of hot towels and creams to make it totally painless. I wish Id had time for a shave! Cool shop with lots of fun art (someone is a Star Wars nerd). Treat yourself to a shave a d haircut.

Great decor! Devil-may-care attitude! Unfortunately my barber had difficulty with the most basic of haircuts.. Lopsided and patchy, maybe the worst haircut I have received in Eugene. Have to go somewhere else to get it fixed now.

Hours arent correct. Went on a Sunday and they arent open. Ironically defying the american tradition of barbershops being open Sunday and closed on Mondays.
