Forever my favorite barber shop!! Its not just a cool, hip place... the give great cuts! Now... if youre in a rush or just want something generic, go look for a super-cuts, because this isnt your place. You go here partially for the experience, and also because you care. I make it a point to only go to BARBER Shops. Why? Because Im not interested in product and styling my hair -- I just want a guy cut but Id prefer that it looks good. This was the BEST cut Ive ever received in my life (from a barber or any other shop). First -- no reservations, and they only accept cash (they have an ATM on-site, but save your self the ATM charge by arriving with cash). They have plenty of seating while you wait (be sure to "sign in" on the note pad)... and they have plenty of artwork in the form of LP covers all over every wall. A very interesting place, for sure. Once I was called I was seated and asked if Id like a beer. HEY!! Did I hear that correctly?? Shoot -- my wife gets wine when she goes in for a mani-pedi or hair work... so why should us guys get a brew while were there? I didnt have to go back to work, so why not? Granted, its not going to be the best of craft brews... but Im not complaining at all. The staff was professional and I loved the guy who cut my hair -- not only was it the best cut Ive had, but I actually had the best conversation ever in a barbers chair (Im not big on fishing, hunting, or some of the other things that are typical of barber shop conversations, but my barber at Analog actually had things to say that I was interested in, so that was a huge plus). My cut was not rushed, and he took great care in making sure it was right. Probably about 2-3 times longer than a typical barber shop, but like I said before -- it was the best cut Ive ever had in my life, so it was totally worth it. Sadly, I dont live in the area so Ill have to save my cuts for when I fly in for business or travel through on vacation, but this place is now on my list.

Really cant give a review... Yelp had decent reviews, so I thought Id give em a shot. Arrived at 6:15, sign said they closed at 7, but noticed they were cash only. Ran to the ATM for $ to make sure Id be able to tip them well, and was back about ~5 minutes later. The door was locked (its an upstairs location, so I thought maybe there was another entrance). I wandered around looking for another door before calling them at 6:25. Wasnt too surprised when they said they were closed (35 mins before their sign indicated). Cant comment on the quality of their cuts, but I do think its poor business practice to lock the doors more than a half hour before youre supposed to shut down. Guess Id expect them to greet customers and let them know theyre done for the night; offer to schedule them for the next day or something? Only wanted a quick buzz, so I doubt itve taken more than 5-10 minutes of their time. But then again, maybe Im a dick for trying to pop in 30-40 mins before closing, though Im a little erked that I had wasted money already paid for parking. I had time to smoke a cig and write this review, their swirly barber open signs are still on, and its still not quite 7. Either way, I doubt Ill bother giving them another shot... Lots of other options, and just isnt worth the hassle. Gave em 2-stars because the place looks pretty cool... from the outside anyway ;)

It was my first time trying this shop and I will most likely never return. Im sure they do fine work if you show them a picture and ask them to replicate. I wasnt sure what I wanted for my hair; so I asked the woman who was cutting my hair to use her best judgement with in keeping it close to a pomp. The ONLY thing I asked of her was to leave the top of my hair long; as thats a traditional pomp. Long on top, ya comb it back and push it forward a little; POMP. I had even gone as far to tell her how upset I was with my last hair experience; when it was cut incredibly short. I wear glasses and cant see much with out them; so when Im getting my hair cut I cant see whats going down. When I put my glasses on; I find the longest hair left on my head is roughly a bit over an inch and a half. By what standard is that long? Cest la vie; as I mentioned Im sure they do great when you show them a photo and dont use words. Also she was very very nice. I suppose there are worse ways of wasting a $20.

Ive given this place two tries now - the first cut I got a few months ago was nothing special for $25, but whatever. Today was simply bad. Charged $35 for 30 mins of cutting 1/2" of hair. If a guy is paying that much for a haircut then person behind the scissors should know what theyre doing. I asked for a trim (1/2") which he did on the top of my head but proceeded to razor the sides to military-style. I had to tell him multiple times to even out the rest of my hair so it looked like a basic head of hair but left with... whatever he created. Ive seen several similar complaints which is why I felt it necessary to warn people, and to strongly advise them to seek other places.

Analog Barbershop really came through on my cut. The owner has a lot of experience, great technique, good styling, and I didnt feel uncomfortable with his conversation. Their "Gen X" description of the interior deco is pretty spot on, records on wall, turntables etc. With proper ID theyll give you a beer to enjoy with the haircut and ive never seen them pounding beers at work which is obviously reassuring . The best part of the whole experience is the shave with a straight edge razor, such a close shave and a unique finishing touch. I paid $15 for a haircut, i think theyre cash only but that couldve changed.

Don gives the best haircut possible for the money. I have only had one or two "salon" haircuts in my life, but I can say that Dons haircuts are better, and are available at Barber Shop Prices. Don used to cut hair at a different barber shop, then moved out of town for about a year. In that year I did not get a decent haircut once. Two other cool things: Don uses a straight razor on your neck, which is rad. Also he takes pride in making a haircut that lasts. It still looks as good two weeks later as it did when you walked out of his barbershop.

If youve ever been unsatisfied with a Supercuts $10 haircut, you should give Analog Barbershop a chance. Yeah, they charge $25, but theyll deliver exactly what you ask for. At other barbershops the barbers tend to be confused or take offence when you ask for an unconventional haircut; at Analog, the barbers are happy to give unconventional or unheard-of haircuts. They also specialize in beard shaping and hot towel shaves. The atmosphere is relaxed and fun and the barbers are pleasant and talented.
