Today marked my 3rd visit to see Chops, each scheduled approximately 2 months in advance. The website requests punctuality so I arrive 15 min early. The high temp in Hbg was 93 so I got a nice sweat to develop while waiting on their unshaded city steps until exactly 3:00, when Chops lunchtime was complete. I voiced my displeasure at his lack of punctuality and his disregard for customer comfort. He told me that my comfort outside of there isnt his problem and I shouldve sat in my car, assuming I drove there. He then told me he was uncomfortable giving me a haircut. The man does a decent job but his popularity created a selfish diva. Addition: Chops decided to post about our get-together on Twitter, referring to me as the "asshat that should find a barber who cares." I really wish that the class-act hadnt deleted it. A few days have passed since my honest review of one instance. Since then, Chops and his employee have spent their time coming up with snarky insults and acting as though I should feel like less of a person for being blocked by them on social media.

Amazing. Great experience. Awesome atmosphere. Great couple of guys with very unique personalities. My head looked 100 times better coming out than I did going in. It was exactly what I was hoping for, and bar-none the best haircut Ive ever had. The location is a bit inconvenient for parking purposes (unless I missed a lot somewhere, I parked in the hotel parking lot across the street, which there are signs explicitly saying not to do, for risk of towing). And my only other apprehension to giving Chops such an awesome review is my fear of his bookings increasing. Its hard to get an appointment, because this establishment is IN DEMAND. Totally worth it, though!

Chops has everything anyone can want/need when it comes to a quality cut. Everything from great products, amazing services, and the best staff to be found this side of the Mississippi. Time slots fil lup fast so be sure to book online via the regular or mobile website. Once inside, you will be treated like a king with the latest selection of "mens themed" magazines and ice-cold PBR. Chops has a way with kids, too. Even if you dont live in the immediate area, make the drive to get a truely world-class experience by a truely gifted individual.

Today was my first visit to Chops. Id rave about his great pricing, but it just doesnt matter. JCs pride in his craft and his customer service far exceeds anyone else in the state let alone the immediate area. Id travel twice as far and pay twice as much. Old school, new school..... JC is taking everyone to school when it comes to what a barbershop truly should be!

Excellent staff; friendly, knowledgeable and great at what they do. Excellent service; got my hair and my beard looking great! Fair price for what you get. Have received similar services (cut and straight razor shave) for twice the price and they werent half as good as Jim and Chops. HIGHLY recommend them if you care about your hair, beard or overall appearance!

Chops is one of those places that is just part of midtown. Hes your local barber, talks to everyone, usually has the scuttlebutt on everything. Hes a very low bullshit kind of guy. Some people dont like this but that works for me. As far as the quality of the haircut, ive been going there for 2.5 years and couldnt be happier. NO WALK INS!

Ive looked for a long time to find a good, reliable place for a cut. There are very few places to go where the person cutting your hair really knows how to cut mens hair. Great experience - an authentic barber shop feel but the place still has its own personality. Good cut, good price, good atmosphere - Id recommend it to anyone.

Excellent service and cut every time I visit. Pleasant atmosphere in a traditional barbershop. I often have awards banquets and country club suppers to attend and Chop ensures Im always looking my best. Scheduling books up fast.
