There has been a real lack of professionalism/follow through at this buisness. I called and asked a question about whether or not I could get my hair extensions that are brand new to be colored to be blended into my own hair (as I explained to her I think her name was Danielle or something with a "D" that I have these 100% human hair extensions in a level 5 auburn and my hair is lighter than a level 5) she put me on hold. Even though she apologized for not knowing the answer she said that she knew that SOME stylists DO BLEND AND COLOR EXTENSIONS she had to ask to make sure. I was then placed on hold. She then picked up and appoligized for the wait and And she asked me how I wanted my hair done and if it was blonde hair extensions (because anyone can color blonde hair a darker color)....I finished this WEIRD phone hair consultation about what I wanted AGAIN I explained to this women that I wanted the hair to blend and I wasnt too picky but wanted someone with experience in cutting hair extensions (because they are expensive not from just Sallys) and asked her if I could come in for a consultation with a stylist. I even made sure she knew I would pay for corrective color fees involved. I NEVER had the option to come in for that consult even though the website says its always free. She said she would gladly check around for a stylist who in her words "was willing to do it" and then she would give me a call back. This was over 2 days ago.. at 2:30pm in the afternoon on a Thursday and I have not received any phone call... not even Im sorry we cant do that service. I understand that its not listed on the menu but I have known people to have their extensions cut there before. Which make me really upset with the lack of communication to good paying customers who sought out a "nice" salon with experience.. My advice for people needing hair advice and want to feel good about their hair (even if I had a consult with a stylist and they said it wasnt realistic what I wanted then I would have still scheduled an appointment and had my hair done there because i liked the style of the whole salon . BUT they showed no interest in me or TO EVEN BOTHER TO CALL ME BACK? and I certainly dont want to deal with their problem of lack of communication AND FOLLOW THROUGH. That sounds like a problem within the salon. Isnt it a job goal for a salon to make women feel beautiful? This was not the case that for this situation. But dont worry there are PLENTY more salons in Hershey and the surrounding areas with a higher standard in customer service that I will now gladly take my money to.

I paid $167 for my daughter to get highlights , she showed Michelle a picture and said she wants the colour and the cut thats in the picture. Michelle said that will look nice and asked to take before and after pictures since the cut is going to be about 8 inches off and the colour is going from dark brown with auburn highlights to blonde. My daughter left that day with her hair having an orange tiny coloured and a couple tiny stripes of lighter colour (her hair wasnt even fouled)!. She called back the next day to let her know that she wasnt happy with the colour, we scheduled another visit two weeks out. As she was doing her hair this time , Michelle said its a process to get blonde from dark hair and with some red. She then charged my daughter ANOTHER $137 ! I called to ask why she had to pay AGAIN? Thats $300 for blonde hair thats not even blonde still! My daughter (who is 21 years old, I took her for her birthday) left several voicemails (around 10) and I left several voicemails over a two week span! We had two calls returned (she called back while we were at work) which I left another message explaining my work schedule, each time leaving TWO different numbers to be reached at, I called the last time and the Secretary said she did try to call but there is no voicemail! One phone doesnt but the other one does! Michelle did call back that day and said she feels okay with charging the $300 within two and half week period for the colour, even though its not close to the picture she showed her, she then said my daughter would be paying it each time she comes to fix it! I dont have a problem paying the $170 for the blonde, if she actually would have gotten it! My question is WHY WASNT HER HAIR FOILED THE FIRST VISIT?? BUT THE SECOND VISIT HER HEAD WAS FULL OF FOIL?! So what was the $170 for? Just colour? Thats probably why after the FIRST VISIT there was NO blonde , because there were no foils used! The picture with her standing in front of the bush is 48 hours AFTER I paid the first $170, the picture with the baby is her hair AFTER the second appointment for $137 !! I dont see $300 there! I dont see it blonde, even if there was half of it blonde I could at least be okay, a little! BUT this is ridiculous! I personally have been going here for two years, thats why I took my daughter, but I will never come again after seeing how she was treated and this was handled!

My friend chose this place to get our nails and hair done. The hair turned out gorgeous and was reasonably priced... the nails though? HORRIBLE!!! I got an over lay and a pedi for over $100... and everyones nails were chipping before we got to the wedding. My overlay was not even, and had horrible bumps. They cut me during the mani AND pedi, pretty bad, it was dripping blood. They laughed and said sorry. Go to them for hair, stay far far away for nails.

Today my office team spent the morning with Downstreet and their fabulous team. Our motive was to have photos made for our dental practice and our website upgrade. The stylist were timely, fun, and we all looked and FELT fantastic during and after the salon visit. Thank you gals and Thank you Kevin for your generosity.

OUTSTANDING QUALITY & SERVICE! Ive been going to Down Street Salon for over 10 years. Theres a reason the place is always packed! They know what they are doing and always do their best to make me look great. I wouldnt hesitate to make an appointment. Definitely worth the money.If you want to look great this is the place.

Best salon in Harrisburg area. I drive 45 minutes to have my hair done with Tasha. She is up to date with products, styles and the best for hair highlights color Ive ever know! Fun salon, open, and friendly!
