Not at all reliable!!! They work on IST (India Standard Time). This WAS my go to dine-in place for Indian food when I was prego but now I have found better and more reliable options. This place is ALWAYS late for delivery - even at 4:30pm which is not even peak delivery time. Good food but I wish they would communicate when they are running late!!! One time, my order arrived over an hour late and I had 10 hungry guests over for dinner - food cold so I had to reheat everything. I had placed the order in advance and called them several times once my scheduled delivery time had lapsed but they kept saying it would be at my door in 15-20minutes every time... I have encountered late delivery at least 3 times. Only reason I continue to order from them because it is one of the few places that has tofu rogan josh and tofu vindaloo. I really wish that they would be timely. Also, I feel that their take out portions and rice portion is some what less than what you get when you dine in. There parathas are unchewable when you order them for delivery but good when you dine in. Plus, if you dine in, you get free papadums/salad and free dessert but none of that in delivery. I would recommend this place if you are going to dine in (there will be a wait but at least you will get hot food).

I have been to this restaurant about a dozen times. Everytime has been superb. The owner and the staff are sensational, compassionate, and congenial - making suggestions when you ask, helping you get the meal you are looking for. The meat dishes and the vegetarian dishes are of equal quality and sumptuousness - blending subtle tastes with herbs and spices and fresh veggies. Dessert and tea is a must. Ask about each dish and learn what its ingredients are so you can taste the layers of flavoring. Its location on South Street is a plus - be sure to walk around our city when you are done. This last visit I wrote them this poem: The sweetness of life is best savored as its tantalizing richness is in our mouth; its sumptuous aroma is in our nose; its complex vision is in our eyes. If we cannot find it then, how will we inform our desire and long for it in the days ahead. Taste it, smell it, see it before it is gone that you may weave elegant tales of its absence and how you are broken without it. Taste first the sweetness and then weep; not the other way around. Try the biryani, kheer, and masala tea your first time through - and of course naan, you wont be disappaointed.

I hope they couldnt give me a phone call when they were canceling my order, so I didnt have to wait for more than one and a half hour. I was trying to be nice because I knew how the traffic would be like during rush hours, so I didnt call them at the first place. But if I didnt call them eventually, I would never know they had canceled my order already. My friend recommended this restaurant to me because she went there once. Although I believe their food must be good, the way theyve treated me is awful. I dont know how hard for them to call your consumer and let them know their order is canceled. Plus, the restaurant never said sorry or anything, just told me that it was my fault because I leaved too far away from the restaurant. Wow, I leave less than 30 blocks away from the restaurant. then why did you accepted my order at the very beginning?

Lovash has been a neighbourhood mainstay for over tweny years. It has evolved from a simple Indian & Mexican restaurant by another name over the years into an attractive white table cloth restaurant with a liquor license. The food is made to order, and is as close to genuine home cooking as it gets. The flavours and spices are cotrect. You will not get dumbed down versions that have been "Americanised". They do all the standard dishes and breads, plus vegetarian and vegan specialties. Service is friendly, casual, and unfussy. Waiting time between courses is not very long. You are encouraged to relax and emjoy your food and surroundings. Portions are ample. You can indulge in a three course meal and feel satisfied but not uncomfortable.

It is not somewhere anyone should eat . For sanitary reasons and to not get sick I know what goes on in the kitchen First hand ! The guy that works in the kitchen and prepares and cooks all the food and sometimes serves is so dirty Atul always says that the boss always asking Attul to suck his D#%* in the kitchen or he wont get paid !i hate to know what goes on exactly in the kitchen there And how dirty The cook is and he has him in the kitchen cooking ? Thats so unsanitary yukkkkk I would never eat there I lived with him I know how he doesnt take showers or wash his hands or clean I hate to know what kind of bacteria has to be in the food ! Youre better off going somewhere you can see the kitchen and who is cooking there

Just ordered from them yesterday and while i cant attest to their resturant food. Their delivery is TERRIBLE. he said itd take a half hour, it took an hour and a half. they took my number down wrong and when i got the phone...(in this pretty bag) the sauces had spilled all over the bag inside all over the containers. The food itself was terrible. they give you a heap of sauce and about 2 table spoons of rice for $15. We ordered for 3 and it was $60....DO NOT EAT OR order there. Also supposedly you get a 15% discount or 3 entrees and a 4th veggie entree is free . BOTH were denied for what seemed pretty much just crappy reasoning..the quest for good indian food in philly goes on.

I cant write a review about the meat options at Lovash, but they serve the best vegetarian Indian food Ive ever had. My boyfriend and I go to Lovash all the time and dont bother with any other Indian place - theyve got the best Chana Masala and Vegetable Korma around. The waiters/manager are all really friendly and make us feel like regulars when were there. I cant recommend this restaurant enough, I take friends here when theyre in Philly. I wish theyd move closer to Broad though, it would make the commute a lot easier. Great food, personable waiters/waitresses, decent prices, right on South St.

Food was gross and my waiter was creepy as hell. I feel like a crazy person seeing all these positive reviews, but my experience was really bad. The food was straight out of the pre-made curry sauce jars (or if it wasnt, they managed to cook up some home-made crap.) It came out in like 30 seconds, so no waiting! My waiter reminded me of Lurch from the Munsters and was just staring at me and my girlfriend the whole time. The naan tasted like someone baked it, froze it, then microwaved it back to "life." Eat there at your own risk.

The service can be slow but the food is always excellent.The atmosphere is great and the servers are always very friendly. I would recommend literally any dish here just make sure you specify your heat level and of course you have to get some Naan. Price is very low as well. You can get dinner and an app for about 25-30$. Apparently they also have a 2 for 20$ menu you have to ask for.
