I wish I could give a zero or a negative number. This was the worst company experience ever!! I purchased the Platinum coverage plan for my new home. My initial warranty expired after 1 year and as a single mom I am not able to put out a great deal of money outside my budget so I thought this would be a good thing to purchase in case anything happened. So at 1 year and 3 months in my home (5/14/17) , I had a water leak that flooded my home office and soaked the carpet. The office shares the wall with the washing machine, which I had also purchased brand new and was delivered in 2/15/17. I called the main number as instructed the very next morning and was told someone would need to get back to me about a service person. The policy requires that you use their service person so you have to wait. I did specify that it was a water leak and my carpet was soaked. On 5/17/17 I called back to the office since no one had called or come out and was told by the Customer Service Manager that they only come out for "accessible leaks" and someone should have told me that I was responsible for opening the wall to make sure thats what was happening. After an angry conversation about that, he emailed me later that day with a name and I immediately contacted the service provider. He came out and did a great job but called the company to tell them I had a slab leak and they denied the claim. After further investigation, it was exactly what I said the problem was and he did not want to call the company back. I called and spoke with someone the next day and they told me the appeal process. The water restoration person told me that my carpet would need to be replaced after standing in water for 3 days so the cost got even higher. I gathered my bids from the water restoration and repair person and submitted an appeal which got no response. I had to email and call back to hear from a random customer service agent that my claim had been denied. When I spoke to the manager, he told me that my plastic washer rescepticle was corroded and they would not cover it. I explained that it was impossible for plastic to corrode and there had been a faulty part that caused the problem and that my home was only 1 year old. They continued to deny the claim because they did not want to pay!! Save your money and avoid this scam!!

This company is bad faith. I purchased the Platinum policy on March for $400, when I claimed to have the plump serviced for my kitchen water leaking issue 2 days ago, they charged me $45 just for diagnosis then tell me its not covered by policy. They ask me to pay $225 out of my pocket just for a part replacement! When I denied this they inactivated my account and canceled my policy without refund my money. This is ridiculous! I will claim to BBB, DONT TRUST THIS COMPANY, ITS SCAM!

Do not believe the website info. They DO NOT have 24/7 365 customer service. Its Mon-Friday 9-7. They are probably open 24 hours if you are BUYING from them but once you need service you have to wait til normal business hours. You can not file a claim online nor check the status of one. When calling be prepared to stay on the line 15 minutes before they assist you. Took over a week, & 3-4 phone calls to Total Home Protection to get someone out to look at my AC.

Called for service on our A/C unit. Service guys were here in an hour. Needed 3 1/2 pds of Freon at $55 per pd. Now Total Home leads you to believe they will pay for everything, which is not the case. They pay only $10 per pd. So on the call I actually saved $75, which accounts for something, a 27% discount. Better than nothing, but Ive got a ways to go to get even with what I paid for my policy. The quick service from Premium Air was a surprise!!

Im in the process of filing a formal complaint with you BBB for the actions that Total Home Protection took regarding my claim. Not only did they not fully explain why I wasnt covered for my water heater they wouldnt return any of the 15 phone calls I made to them. If you take any advise from reviews before you purchase your home warranty plan PLEASE take mine... STAY AWAY FROM THESE CROOKS !!!!!!!!

Such a scam! I have called 8 times and they have yet to send someone out to fix my A/C. They assign a tech and then I call the tech to schedule a time to come out and they say they dont service the area or have never heard of total home protection and refuse to come out!! I have been without A/C for a week and still have no appointment!!!

This is a rip off. Trying to get my air unit repaired per their tech but they say it is not covered due to normal wear and tear. I told them thats why I got the additional warranty because the unit is over 25 years old and they knew that when they signed me up and said okay no problem. No one is returning my calls

Look at their contracts and what they cover they really dont cover anything they cover very small items on your major appliances its not worth it just to take a look at the contract and compare it to other contracts before you buy this service its not worth it but look at the contracts and you will know.

It took 2 trips to complete the repair of my a/c, however, tech stayed on the case, kept in contact, and completed the service satisfactorily. The a/c has been working fine!

They declined to fix or replace my refrigerator after 3 times of repairs in 3 months. The reason is "the refrigerator has no good maintenance".
