There are a ton of records here, most of which are reasonably priced. Unfortunately, I feel there is a little bit of deception when it comes to the records which have been sealed and placed I on the wall. After buying a used, sealed record I opened it, played it and found it had sufficient static to make it a less than enjoyable experience. Upon returning to the store to exchange the record, which they kindly did, I saw another used, sealed record of candidos "dancin & prancin" for $25. That seemed about $5 lower than usual, but I didnt want to get burned again so I opened it. The record contained no inner sleeve and the record was badly scuffed all over. It was likely "Good" on the Goldmine scale which is one of lowest grades and would never sell for $25 on the open market. The fact that it was sealed without a sleeve in that condition could only be done by someone with no knowledge of record care or it was a deceptive move. Im not sure which of the two it was, but I would not trust buying a used sealed record from this shop.

Excellent music store. Any vinyl-lover thats new in town and needs a go-to record shoppe, this is the place for you. I moved here from Columbia, SC and was really missing my local, hometown music shop. I read reviews online of Monster Music and decided to check it out....So glad I did. This place has all youd ever want and more. Bins upon bins of $1 records, new records, old records, cds, movies, apparel, candy...only thing Id change is the hardcore music they were blasting. Other than that, you gotta check this place out! I was in there looking for one thing and came out with 8 vinyls, all for 8 bucks. Monster Music has my vote, all the way!!

Called this business a week ahead. Drove 20 miles with 3 boxes of records only to be told that they dont buy these records, only after looking at one box of records. Left there and drove to Ks Book Store and they purchased a good assortment of records. Dont waste your time.

Pretty solid selection. So-so prices. Coming from Illinois, Im used to having a wide variety of places to buy vinyl at a lower cost. I guess since theyre the only store that I know of in the Charleston area, they can sell their used stuff for a little bit more.

Good selection of most genres, though the electronic and dance section is mediocre. Pricing on CDs is higher than average at $15.99 for a new album. This is the only place in Charleston area like this but Columbias Papa Jazz has better prices.

Most High Pharaoh

Only place in Charleston I will ever buy music from. They do have higher prices on new releases and some old records but well worth it. The staff is always professional and easy to talk to.

Very wide selection, but their organization is a little bit confusing the first time you go there. They sell many things beyond music and movies, like toys, sage, and incense.
