I worked for the Granger family for a little over year while in college and was fortunate enough to have witnessed first hand the barbershop go from an aspiring idea into a prosperous and first class establishment. DR has cut my hair now for 3 years and even as I spent my summers away from Columbia, I would routinely make the drive back down specifically to get a haircut from DR or any other barber. It truly is an experience unlike any other, everyone in the shop makes you feel like family and for the 30 minutes youre in the chair, it is nothing short of a break from reality and a time to kick back and enjoy what feels like some of your best friends. Not to mention I always walked out with a head turning haircut. Circa Barbershop is nothing short of the best.

Circa Barber Shop - Sumter St So, Ive been here a number of times for a beard trim, and have had the pleasure of having Martha and DR clean me up. The attention to detail and personalized service they provide is AMAZING! Marthas my main barber. Homegirl knows her way around a beard! The time she takes making sure my beard is well-proportioned leaves me feeling like I made a great decision going there. Shes mean with those shears too!

I cant say enough about how fantastic Circa is. From the moment you walk in, you feel like youre stepping back in time to a shop that looks and feels like the real deal. The place is retro hip, the styles are totally au courant, and DR Granger and crew will give you the best haircut youll ever have. Im 62 years old and have been to a million barbers; Id never go anywhere else. My only regret is that I took so long to get here.

Remember when real barber shops existed and you could be treated like the man you were? Well, Columbia finally has one. Top notch cuts with top notch customer service. Plus, they know how to cut and trim beards correctly as well! A few other places have tried the concept but failed due to not being authentic or trying to charge salon prices. I will be a regular from now on!

Been to many different places for a haircut and Circa has by far left me the happiest with my cut. Sarah did an amazing job and has definitely locked down a new client! I would 100% advise anyone reading this review to get in there as soon as possible and book an appointment with her as shes new, but her spots will surely be filling fast!

Circa is fantastic. I appreciated the throwback vibe of the space. DR is a great dude and gave me a perfect haircut. I cant recommend this place enough. You also get the added bonus of visiting Main St which is something I dont get to do often enough. Make an appointment and just let DR do his thing. Thanks again.

My son and I have been coming to Circa since just after they opened, just over a year ago. The best haircuts and beard trims in Columbia, hands-down. We have had cuts from Emma, D.R, and Martha, and all are great. Excellent atmosphere, I wouldnt go anywhere else.
