Even though it has been a year & a half, this is the 1st I have seen this. I must mention that I worked a wide variety short & long term assignments for Manpower from 1985 thru 2000, out of this office, as well as the Easley & Simpsonville offices as they opened. From the time I started thru the mid 1990s, they were an great source of part-time & temporary employment for myself, retirees, laid off workers between jobs, summer jobs for students, etc. Further, the staff was always helpful to both the customers & workers, often willing to go the extra mile. Sometimes things like this happen that they have no control over. Rest assured, that had this happened while these folks were running things, they would have had another assignment for you in a short time. This happened with me a few times, but I did not voluntarily leave another job beforehand. However, toward the end of the 1990s, as office staff changed, the situation gradually deteriorated. It should be pointed that during this period of time, Greenville area unemployment at 1 time fell below 2%. Then sadly, things tanked as Mitch Fromstein, the CEO of Manpower since 1972, retired in 1999. Then Jeffery Jorres became CEO & remains to this day. The folks in this office aparently have been able to get their way with him, despite the fact that they have lost hundreds of thousands, perhaps even millions of dollars worth of business to other temporary & staffing companies, even to the extent that the Easley & Simpsonville offices that I had worked for, as well as offices in Duncan, Seneca, & now, aparently Laurens in the upstate have had to close. From this it would appear that they have not been able to replace the business lost. Rest assured, neither you nor I would keep a job with such a lousy performance. I have not worked any Manpower jobs since 2000, but I have gone back several times to re-apply, & gotten nowhere, even long before the recession started in December 2007. I certainly hope that you have since found some kind of work in the meantime, but I do realize that it definitely is the toughest job market since WW2. If you see this message, please reply, & I will try to get back in touch.

I am the manager of a large contractor in the upstate. I fully explained in painful and ridicules detail the duties the employees i needed would be doing. Relevant example is working at heights around 45-feet with a trained operator and fall protection on. They sent a gentleman who was 15 foot in the air, had an anxiety attack and was immediately taken of site. This one guy told them he was 80 feet plus in the air. With that info from only him and never a call from me they removed the over 6plus people from my site. Those people are now unemployed. My recommendation is until this place gets intelligent people vetting their candidates to ensure they are the right fit; Look for another place.

No one answers the phone! I left 5 messages and was never called back. I filled out an application online and it stated that if you do not receive a call in two days you should give them a call. When I finally got a hold of someone they were unprofessional and rude! Basically you call in on Tuesday to see if they have any jobs. You call on Tuesday they answer very rarely then you ask if they have any jobs and they say no and slam down the phone. I wish I had there job were you could be rude and do not have to do anything and still draw a paycheck. Professional I think not! Do not waste your time with this company.

Manpower called me while I was working a temporary job for another company and promised me a permanent job. I quit the temporary job, but Manpower could not employ me at the placed theyd promised. They attempted to blame me because they did not fully check over my application. Id disclosed all information they failed to check it. I ended up with no job, and manpower did nothing to help or compensate me for their broken promises.

Horrible company to work for. Worked for 3 weeks before I got paid and they never return your phone calls or the recruiter is always unavailable. Its funny how the second I asked for a manager that my recruiter all of a sudden became available. I hope someone pushes papers on them because they are nothing but a fraud. I would piss on the ground where the building burns.
