Austin Funeral Homes and staff are world class who provide the support needed during a very difficult time. I have had the misfortune to require their service twice within the last few years. Carol Austin and her staff have been extremely supportive through the entire process. My first experience was over two years ago with my wife in hospice care for cancer. I went to Austin Funeral Services based on multiple recommendations from church leaders in the community along with recommendations from hospice nurses and physicians. At that time, I needed help not only with funeral planning but also understanding the steps to be taken at the time of her death. Carol and her staff walked me through each step of the process with as little or as much detail that I wanted at the time. She also helped with planning prior to her death in addition to assisting with my children’s understanding of the funeral process and potential counseling. As for the funeral, the staff were timely, professional and caring during the grieving process. They were there to make sure everything was appropriate. They took care of all the details and did not overlook what others might see as the smallest of things. They made sure my children where comfortable, that they always had a place for them to stay and had someone for them if they needed to leave. In addition, my wife had to be transported back to Arkansas for the burial and her team coordinated everything with the receiving funeral home. The driver called me throughout the trip updating his progress and his arrival in Arkansas. I received so many comments following the funeral service regarding how beautiful the service was and well everything was planned. Those comments where all due to the planning of Austin Funeral Home’s team. In addition, two years later my father died suddenly and I once again relied on Austin Funeral Services to help us in our time of need. This occurred at 11pm on a Saturday. I made one phone call and within an hour, there was someone at our house assisting us. For my father, it once again required transporting him to Oklahoma for his services. Carol and her team did all the coordination, arrangements between funeral homes and once again made a very difficult situation as easy as possible. Austin Funeral Home comes with my highest recommendation. They are professional, reliable, and are there to assist you at a time of grief. They are the type of people that once you meet them you will instantly think of them as family. I know I could call them at anytime day or night and they would be there for us. As a physician myself, I am sometimes asked by my patients or families for recommendations on funeral arrangements. If they dont have someone I always recommend Austin Funeral Home. I know on a personal level and can say with confidence, they will take care of your family.

Very seldom do I write online reviews however I simply could not let this one pass. My father became ill and we knew it was time to plan services. My mother and I had no idea where to begin when we were referred to Carol at Austin Funeral & Cremation Services. Carol came to my mothers house fully prepared to discuss the details of my fathers impending passing. She was thorough and compassionate, guiding us through the necessary arrangements. Carol took the time to understand my father and assist with planning the details of his funeral service, cremation and burial. The arrangements were made while we grieved and prepared for family and friends. Not once did we have to worry about what to do. The amount of respect and compassion along with attention to detail resulted in the most beautiful tribute to my father. In addition to guiding us through a very difficult time, Austin Funeral & Cremation Services advised of the cost associated with each decision, which were extremely affordable. We would not have changed a thing. This family owned business is top notch. I would highly recommend Austin Funeral & Cremation Services to anyone in the Nashville area. When my wife passed our church recommended Austin Funeral & Cremation Services, and I could not have been more pleased with our decision to use Austin. Carol Austin and her staff were all so attentive to our needs. You can visit their office, or (if you live near their offices) they can come to your location – every effort is made to make sure the process runs a smoothly as possible. The costs surrounding a funeral can be quite expensive, but Austin’s fees all seemed very reasonable. In fact, with the attention to detail and level of service we received, I would have easily paid more and still been equally as satisfied. Carol was not able to able to attend the funeral to oversee the duties surrounding the services due to a prior commitment to another service, but her daughter and other staff did an excellent job of maintaining an air of respect and beauty for our heavily attended service. Carol has a very calming presence which was much needed/appreciated during that difficult period and the days that followed. It’s a calling to be able to help people through these times, and Carol Austin and Austin Funeral Services did such a wonderful job for our family that I will recommend them with confidence to anyone in need.
