I have tried several times to get a haircut here but each time I have been sorrily disappointed. Yesterdays experience was the last time I will go to this establishment. I showed the hairstylist the cut I wanted from one of their books. We talked about what I wanted and thought she was on the same page. Boy was I wrong. At one point she said shes going to be cautious about cutting too short as you can always cut more off but didnt want to go too short. (I came in with hair to the middle of my back) I explained that I wanted volume on top. I wanted to be able to curl it and have height. This gal got out the mirror so I could see what she had down. "Dont worry about the back (nape of the neck) Im going to shave that down". At that point I was happy with the length and the style. However the young woman said, " I think it has to be a bit shorter". She took those scissors and whacked off another 2 plus inches right on top. Once she did that, she had to cut the rest to make it equal. When she was done and saw what she had done she said you can use product on the ends to get volume, height and didnt bother to shave down the backof the neck. I guess that was to make up for the lack of hair on the top of my hair! I am 63 years old and have no plan to spike my hair to get volume. I have a very important event on Saturday so off I go to Knoxville to get a wig. I cannot style my hair with this cut and I dont want to be seen with a cowlick caused by the hair professional(??). With as many stylists in this region, go somewhere else!

They have some great ppl. They seem knowledgeable & friendly. normally can walk in without any appointments but they do get busy some times, especially during their sales. which they have some great sales from time to time, including basic hair cuts for only $5 or $6 bucks. Hard to beat a deal like that. My son has his hair cut there frequently. highly recommended if you dont already have a favorite hair stylist elsewhere. and once you find someone here you really like, you can always request them or make appt specifically with that person.

This place is fantastic. The whole staff was courteous and prompt. The "ala cart" idea was clearly and thoroughly explained, and it makes coming to Great Clips super flexible for folks on the go, especially when you can book via telephone within an hour of your arrival. I found, too, the prices were very affordable. My only concern involved the lack of privacy for personal belongings. Still, the next time I come, I will adjust to leaving them in the vehicle. I think Great Clips folk are worth that! DRJ
