Caring, Compassionate, and Dignified!! - I couldnt agree less with the previous rating. We have been to Mount Olivet 4 times to make funeral arrangements since 2006. After the first funeral we experienced with the funeral director, Michael, we transferred our pre-arrangements from another funeral home to Mount Olivet. He took care of all the small details, and tailored to our needs. He was kind, and compassionate, and genuine. He still calls to check up on us occasionally. We liked the fact that he was with us the entire time. My father passed before the new Mt. Olivet was built, and we used another home, and we were shuffled through 3 different directors before he was buried. My mother looked beautiful, just like she did many years ago before she got sick. And the flower pall they ordered was stunning, we still get compliments on how it looked. The facility was very clean and in order, not dark and drab like others I had been to in town. We also loved the fact that all preparations are done on site, and not at some centralized place like we experienced a few years back when my father passed. When they came to our house, Michael left a rose with a note saying that they would take excellent care of her. I cannot sing their praises enough. They made a beautiful DVD of pictures that was played during the visitiation, even taking photos of all the flowers so we could forever keep. They even paid the postage on the thank you cards for us. The receptionist is very kind and helpful. They took the burden off of us at a difficult time, with one phone call, and our family would definitely send other family or church members to them.

I lost my brother in 2007 and they were amazing. Michael was wonderful helpped us so much. There was a beautiful service and they were with us every step. Gave us so much care. Another lady from there even gave me my sister and father a rose and a story behind it. Meant so much. I cant say anything negative really. The only one thing is the make up had to be touched up but even so michael was on it and went over and beyond to make my brother look perfect. The worst day of my life so far (god forbid) but they made it so much easier to deal with. THANK YOU to everyone that was there and helped us. Everytime we visit my brother (which is very often) its so clean and looks amazing. Everything weve left for him is always still there, where alot of places throw things away after a while.. i have an angle up there thats been there this whole time. 8 years later. Also, that christmas after he died.. they invited us to a memorial were we all lite candles and had Christmas songs.. aahhh... love them. Just cant say how wonderful they are enough.

This funeral home was an awful experience for my family. They failed in so many ways ( not ordering the tombstone, names left out of the obituary, leaking roof during visitation, no power during most of the vistitation). I would also not recommend the florist they used. Very disappointed with this funeral home and would never recommend to anyone.

Responded so nicely to our needs and the grounds crew were so nice when we lingered after the burial and did not rush us even though it was late in the day.

The cemetery has Confederate Circle, devoted to graves of Confederate veterans. My 2xgreat-grandfather was buried there.
