I like the fact that you can look over the counter and see all the chicken being cooked right in front of you. The staff was friendly and even though they were out of the avacado salsa stuff on the bar and it was taking longer than expected, one of them thought outside the box and got me a few containers from the drive through section. We ordered a quesadilla and two two piece combos and it did not take long at all though the combos came out before the quesadilla. Honestly I thought the chicken was going to be bigger but I cant complain that what was served did taste good, was it the best, no but not the worse. The quesadilla was more like a stepped up crunch wrap you would expect from Taco Bell but it was surprisingly filling and was not bad at all. The sides were not bad but again not the worse or the best, more middle of the road. I can see myself visiting again and possibly bumping this up a star. Their menu has tons of choices and it was just a quick lunch the day I went.

I went through the drive-thru, got a 12 -piece meal w/ black beans, rice a d cole slaw. It came w/ choice of corn or flour tortillas. Got the churros and a drink: 1. Chicken: great flavor. Would eat again if nothing else was open. 2. Rice: bland, flavorless, would never eat again. 3. Black beans: taste good at the beginning and then leave a weird aftertaste, would never eat again. 4. Cole Slaw: tasted just like any other, great taste and crunch, would not eat again. 5. Tortillas: THIS WAS THE WORST PART: the tortillas are cheap and full of preservatives so they taste so bad, just like the " Banderita" from WalMart. They do not taste good at all, I respect tortillas too much to even swallow it so I disposed of it. 6. Churros: fantastic churros! 7. Service: MY FAVORITE PART awesome service and the food containers and amounts were fantastic. Everything was clean. I paid $30.59 including a large drink. P.S. Where are the salsas?

Liked El Polo Loco in California for many years. The Allen, Texas location is awful! Chicken is dry, dry, dry. Tortillas are always torn. Beans are soupy. Called corporate and they called Allen manager who claims to be from California and he says this is the same as California quality. If this is so, California locations have gone to pot. I have been there twice and will not return. Prediction.................They will be gone in two years! NOTE TO "OWNER"...........DO NOT BOTHER TO SEND ME ONE OF YOUR BOILER PLATE INSINCERE, NONSENSICAL REPLIES SUCH AS YOU SEND TO OTHERS. YOU ARE PART OF THE PROBLEM. LEARN TO MANAGE AND TRAIN EMPLOYEES, PAY ATTENTION TO QUALITY CONTROL. IF YOU ARE INCAPABLE OF THIS, SPEND THE NECESSARY MONEY TO HIRE COMPETENT MANAGEMENT. OTHERWISE, KISS YOUR INVESTMENT BYE BYE !

The 2 young ladies working the counter were very sweet and friendly. One was new. They were patient with me looking the menu over. I use to go to El Polo Loco over 30 years ago in California and the menu has definitely changed. I ordered the shrimp avocado tacos, corn and cole slaw. The shrimp was very tough but otherwise it was tasty. I was very impressed with the corn tortillas. I believe they are homemade and are the best tasting corn tortillas Ive ever had. My friend had the half of chicken, broccoli and mashed potatoes. She enjoyed it. We agreed that overall the food was so so! The place is very noisy and we couldnt find a clean table but the rest of the store was clean.

Decided to try this place for the second time and for the second time we had to leave the drive thru line because the wait time was ridiculous!!! There was only one car in front of us and we waited 15 minutes for this ONE car to get their order and it never happened. We finally got out of line and drove next door to Whataburger had our food within 3 minutes. As we pulled out of Whataburger, the same car was STILL waiting for their food at Pollo Loco. The place did not look busy and this is the second time this has happened so unless you have the time and patience to endure the long wait, AVOID THIS PLACE.

Not sure what I expected but, this was just an overall comical terrible service. Went with a co worker for lunch. Their food comes out promptly. 10 minutes goes by and my buzzer is silent. Go to the counter to inquiry. There is "a problem with the chicken" I am told. Ok! So, I go back and wait. Manager then comes to the table and comps my next meal. Still have yet to receive my current meal. More time goes by....no meal. Here is the kicker... I give up and go ask for a refund, yep could not even get that correct. Additionally, the facility is dirty and overall cleanness of the food prep area is sub par.

This was a first-time experience. The service was cordial, food was ok but the restaurant could have been cleaner. It was NOT crowded. There was no lunch hour rush, maybe six guests total. I stopped in Sunday evening between 5p-6:30p and it was evident that tables and floor had not been cleaned. This is not a good indicator; floors and tables dirty. It makes you wonder whats "really going on" in the kitchen! Maybe this situation could be resolved by training or re-training your employees. I would love to return to see if things change..

This was our first and last visit. We arrived shortly after 7pm on Monday, 12/19/16. We took a seat in the dining room after cleaning a table. The restaurant was filthy. See the pictures. At 7:38pm we were still waiting on our food. I went up to ask what the issue was. The man I spoke to turned around and walked away without replying. After a few moments, he came back and said that they would refund my money. No apology at all. They seemed to care more about the drive thru than the dining room.

The food is fair compare to other chicken fast food ventures. They portions are OK but they overload with beans to cover for a small peace of chicken. The avocado chicken is fairly good and well done. The veggies are fresh. The drive through is always busy but I hope its just the beginning buzz... The place smells like a fire pit, I guess people like it California... Let put it this way, its affordable place for a healthy fast lunch.

First time in Allen TX location. Seriously?! 8 reasons well never go there again. 1.Chicken pieces are tiny and over cooked. 2.Kids meal served in a baggy. 3. Cold food. 4.Out of all diet drinks. 5.Had to ask for utensils and they were out, then for Salsa and they were out. 6.Served in wet black foam box plate. 7.Cole slaw is terrible 8.Top it off with poor service. Food is NOTHING like the menu looks!

I normally love the food here, but twice I have requested no cheese on an item and received one with cheese. I have a dairy allergy, so when I get home and realize I just spent money on food that I cant even eat...its incredibly frustrating. I wish whoever was putting the food together in back actually bothered to listen to what I order. I dont know if Ill be back, Im tired of wasting my money and my time.
