This company might be ok to find work at if you have some other source of income or for that extra spending money if your living expenses are covered, but as a primary? Forget about it. So why two stars? They stayed nice on the phone and the workplace they contracted with was nice. Also they were willing to hear me out and got as far as testing to see that I could actually back up what I had on my resume. That earned them the two stars. So whats behind the three missing stars? It was a good start, but why did they come up short? One star docked for pay. Good pay? Not really. Yes more than minimum wage, but still not what would be livable on a single income given typical rents/commuting/utilities. Cant profit, let alone break even. Good pay is somewhere above break even. So its not. At least by my standards. Another star docked for hours. Id need at least 6 hours and 5 days at the pay I was offered. But the only time I got close to a full week was training for the job they managed to place me with. I cant afford to be waiting around and made that clear, but I guess they couldnt understand my situation. I wasnt seeing my name in the schedule blocks, and thats not working with rent coming up. Time for me to move on. And the last star bumped for so-so communication and some seeming disorganization in their office. Whoever filed the employment papers didnt do so great a job. I filled out everything I could on my end, and even had the voided check. But somehow they still couldnt have my pay direct deposited, despite going through that troble. If I talked to anyone other than Debbie (the handler for my worksite), it seemed the wrong information got passed around. I ended up working some hours I couldnt be paid for. Then I got reprimanded for my eagerness to work, since I already put in that time. And even talking to Debbie it seemed she said one thing but never wrote it down or didnt remember on the next call. Its frustrating. So Ill say it again, only look here if youre not needing a solid primary income.

I just got off the phone with the rudest woman, Debbie Hol(_). She belittled my intelligence, "youre not making sense," for doing the responsible, professional thing of calling them to let them know my job interview had gone long and I couldnt make it to the assignment til later. Her initial response to my call was, "the position has been filled," even though I had an email from Elka confirming the assignment. She then proceeded to tell me "we dont want you" and canceled the rest of the work I had been assigned. I am not the only person this has happened to. At least 3 other people Ive been on assignment with have told me that this woman, Debbie, has been incredibly rude to them. She needs to be fired. Also, please take note of all the "5 star" reviews AFTER negative 1 star reviews are posted. Very suspicious... (Another reviewer was threatened with legal action for writing a negative review. I will keep you posted if that happens.) So if you dont mind being punished for continuing your job search and going to interviews, being stripped of your dignity for having the audacity of wanting to work, then this place is PERFECT.

This company, along with Kendra Scott South Congress - Austin, lacks integrity. I had been previously threatened with a law suit if I did not remove my review from Yelp of my horrible experience at Kendra Scott. Kendra Scott also had my account closed. So Yelp also lacks in integrity too for allowing that. They tried to tell me that I had signed something stating that I could not write reviews, however, they were never were able to give me that document. Please be advised that it is ILLEGAL for companies to do that. And even more so now. Please be cautious if you find yourself needing to work with these guys. They only care about their clients and not YOU. They make money off YOU due to their CLIENTS. President Obama signed a number of bills into law on Thursday, most notably H.R. 5111, the "Consumer Review Fairness Act of 2016". The legislation, which passed both houses of congress at the start of December, "makes certain clauses of a form contract void if it prohibits, or restricts, an individual from engaging in a review of a sellers goods, services, or conduct."

I contacted this agency after reading reviews on another site including the agencies own website. It sounded as though the upheld the same values and standards i have maintained over the course of my career. The first red flag occurred when I applied for multiple openings and followed up a week later. I spoke with Elka who stated she could not see any of my applications but would send me a link to an online assessment...red flag number two; I understand busy. However, this was not determined until I followed up with YOU? I dismissed them completely when I called back (yes, again) and was told, "Weve been pretty busy trying to take care of SXSW." So you can only concentrate on one client at a time? Not impressed.

I have been working for The A-List since 2013 and would not have found the wonderful variety of opportunities that Ive had without them! Having gone from being a college student looking for temp positions during school breaks to a college graduate looking for long term positions to learn and grow in, A-List has always found fantastic positions for me. They have matched me with some of the most exciting places to work that I would never have thought to explore on my own! Theyre a great team that work hard for you if you work hard for them!

I contacted Ashby Staffing - The A List agency and spoke with Elka. I was instructed to email my resume to her and was provided with an email address. She further stated I would be contacted the next day. I was not. I contacted Elka again who stated she would personally see that my information was passed to the correct office and I would be contacted the next day. Again I was not. I have not been contacted to this day. That was several months ago. How could this agency possible find me employment if they cant even get past the first step?

After moving to Austin, I found it very difficult to get into the job market. But, once I called Alist I immediately knew I had found the right place. The staff is amazing: very friendly, bubbly and extremely helpful. Within days I was out working with a major Austin company and I couldnt be more impressed with their agency.
