My husband took my son there for his first haircut and he had Martha. She is very good and very sweet. I took him back b/c I didnt like the straight across look and she fixed it for me. There is a big guy in there that is very rude and made us pay for the haircut after Martha told us "first" cuts are free. I give Martha 5 stars and Avalon three for having this jerk working there. He was rude both times we went in there.

I had been using a "shear" to buzz my hair, but things changed and I was in need of a professional look. Gilbert delivered. Gilbert has been cutting hair since his days in the Air Force back in 1958. He loves what he does, and enjoys conversation. However he can take a hint if you want peace and quiet. He has a great sense of humor, and I suspect hell take to mine in the future.

Like walking back in time to when haircuts were given by people who care about you and what you look like when you walk out of the shop. Pride in a job well done. A job thats not rushed and is done with precision. This was a real gem of a place and a real pleasure for this traveler from Virginia to find during my short stay in Houston. Ill be back!

Great place, great haircut. I personally go to Wayne and have been for some time - he knows what I like and hes up to date with all the modern mens hairstyles. Five stars!

Something has happened since I was there about 3 weeks ago. It appears that all of the barbers that were there no longer are. Was told Luis, the one I saw, retired.
