We started dancing with the Champions studio of Fred Astaire shortly after they opened, and have continued dancing there for over three years. I believe that what they do is not very well explained. Certainly, you can take some dance lessons. They do a great job of teaching you how to dance. And learning how to dance with my wife has definitely improved our life and happiness together. But there is a better reason we have kept coming back for three years. Before we started going to Fred Astaire, "going out" meant that maybe we would hook up with some friends for dinner, or go check out a movie. And there arent that many movies that I want to see. I was content with my life back then, but looking back on it it was a bit typical and mundane. Since then, Fred Astaire Champions has become a major component of our entertainment calendar. They have group lessons in the evenings, sure. More importantly, almost every Friday night they have a dance party for the students. This is only about 2 hours long but it is so much more enjoyable and far more fulfilling than going to the movies (which you can still do on Saturday night, of course). But more than that, twice a year they organize a variety of "nights out" at various popular places from restaurants to bowling alleys. On those occasions there is always dancing, but other activities like going on a boat tour of Galveston, or bottling your own wine at a wine and cheese tasting. While this is not our entire social calendar, its nice to have this constant stream of events that you can "opt in" and participate. Im certainly glad I learned how to dance, but more than that, I now have all these wonderful memories of things that we have done together as a couple. And we have been able to enjoy ourselves a lot more at family events or at places that have music when I am not with Fred Astaire. I would definitely recommend it, not just for learning how to dance, but for people who want to do more fun things.

Started taking lessons approximately eight months ago and cant wait to get to the studio for my private dance lessons or the group classes. I have had a few physical challenges and the neurologist, family and ob-gyn doctors all say keep dancing it is beneficial for your particular situations. Never have had so much fun as Ive had at Fred Astaire Dance Studio- Champions. Instructors are competent in all types of dance and challenge and encourage me to be the very best dancer I can be. There are different ways to express myself such as competitive dancing, team matches and more. Never want to stop dancing.....

My 14 year old had his 8th grade dance coming up and had absolutely no confidence on a dance floor. We signed him up for some basic lessons and his instructor ( Holly) went to work on him. By the time the the dance came around he was ready and told me afterward that he danced with seven different girls. Hats off to the teachers at the Willowbrook Fred Astaire Studio. Its not easy to inspire a 14 year old boy to love dance but you did it.
