This review is written by several of their long term dancers who wish to remain anonymous, and hope to explain to the Bridwells what they could never say to their faces. 1. We want people to know how mean they are and how they will degrade you till you dont have a self esteem left. 2. They only want you if youre talented. (Dont believe us? Look up the Tulsa World article about their prodigies) 3. If you dont do what they want then they wont like you and will toss you aside like a piece of trash. 4. They use people. They pit people against each other. 5. They shun you and talk about you behind your back to other students. (Weve heard plenty--the snickers, praises, and rants about students) 6. Heaven forbid you stand up for yourself. Without being mocked and laughed at. We wish we could have given a better review because many years, classes and performances were spent wasted on them. If only they could believe in all their students... Dont believe us? Look at how many of the graduated dancers came back to them. Not many.

This is the best place you can find in Tulsa. The staff is extraordinary. Coming from a student there, I am privileged to be a part of a wonderful group of dancers and people. When you attend the The Dance and Performing Arts academy, you can be sure of excellent technical training, a positive atmosphere, and equality for every student. Just be willing to work HARD, and this is the place for you! Ms. Sweeneys contemporary classes are so much fun. The past two years we have had her have been a blast! Ms. Hopes and Ms. Sandys ballet/pointe classes are full of technical training, with a few tempting bits of character thrown in! Parlez-vous français? Mr. Bridwells advanced ballet/pointe classes are full of pop quizzes on artistry in every industry, mini conversations in French, tons of laughter and not to mention the excellent training! I have taken a few classes in the other areas of the school, but one thing I know for sure: You are going to be blown away by every performance on Show Day! :D

Im very thankful for the 2.5 years I spent training at the Dance and Performing Arts Academy in high school. I took ballet, pointe, jazz, and modern classes here. I was very serious about my dance education, and the instructors were supportive of this. They are experienced dancers themselves and know how to teach proper technique. I recieved great, technical training and when I expressed my desire to continue my dance education in college, they provided me with information, helped with audition videos, and gave me recommendations. I went on to train in Modern dance at University of Oklahoma, and have since done some freelance performing as well as started teaching dance myself. Thanks for being a supportive spring-board into my career in the arts!

My daughter began studying ballet at The Dance and Performing Arts Academy at age 4. In the 5 years since, I have watched her blossom under the experienced instruction of the amazing staff. She now has added piano, vocals, jazz, and hip hop to her repertoire, and moves with the grace and confidence of a dancer. The Bridwells and their staff take a personal interest in the students development, with tailored class suggestions and goals for individual achievement based on the relationships formed with each young artist. The year-end performances are impressive and display all of the hard work and love that goes into this school. I highly recommend The Dance and Performing Arts Academy for girls and boys of all ages who love to dance.

I studied ballet and modern at The Dance and Performing Arts Academy for 3 years of high school after trying 5 or 6 other studios in Tulsa. The teachers are not easy and the classes are very challenging, but coming here was one of the best decisions I made in my dance career. All of their instructors are experts in what they teach and have a tremendous wealth of experience that they bring to the classroom daily. Despite their high standard, I found them kind and interested in what was going on in my life. The main studio is well-furnished with a marley floor and adjustable bars. I would recommend this studio to anyone serious about the art of dance.

I started taking ballet at the Dance and Performing Arts Academy my senior year of high school. The Bridwells really worked with me to refine my technique, and I improved by leaps (pun intended) and bounds. As teachers, the Bridwells meet everyone at their level, regardless of age or ability, and emphasize strong work ethic to achieve progress. Students are treated with kindness and respect, both inside and outside the studio. It is obvious the Bridwells love sharing their joy of dance with their students.

Weve been very happy with the Bridwells and staff, small class size, and attention to detail. Our daughter has danced for several years but has developed more fully and accurately since dancing here. Since the staff themselves have performed professionally, they pass on their passion and expertise to the students. Whether a student desires to train for a professional level or train and perform simply for the love of it, I would highly recommend The Dance and Performing Arts Academy.
