I will start this off by saying my daughter attended Sonlight for 9 months. We noticed that on days the daycare fed the children hot dogs, she would be up all night vomiting! I then told her teacher that she was not able or allowed to eat hot dogs from there and that they needed to feed her something different because they are obviously not cooking them properly. In July, 2012, when I went to pick up my daughter, she was holding her left arm and saying "Ouch Mommy, ouch" as well as crying. I had asked them after her last injury (another kid shut my daughters finger in the door...) to call me regardless of how small the accident was. I had not received a call at work and at that point, I asked her teacher if anything had happened because she was complaining of pain and she said "not that I saw." So I left the daycare with my daughter and her father and I took her to the ER because she kept complaining of pain. They further diagnosed her with a dislocated elbow. The next morning I took in all of her hospital paperwork for them to make a note for her file and the front office manager asked me if I would like for her to check with my daughters teacher to see if something happened. It turns out my daughter had another accident that day where she tripped, but this was not enough to cause a dislocated elbow! She created an accident report for me and I signed it. Well, a few weeks after the incident my insurance company asked for me to get the daycares insurance information because they felt the daycare was liable for the medical expenses due to the fact that it happened on their property. I dropped off the letter from my insurance company to the office manager and received a call the next day from the owner, Jan Haydel, asking me to return her call. I called the owner back only to have her asking me rude questions such as that she didnt understand why I was asking for their information because the incident didnt happen there. She even accused me of trying to "get money" from them and that she was going to turn me and my daughters father over to CPS because "We were obviously negligent" with our daughter. She straight up accused me of CHILD ABUSE! It was crazy! I then filed a case with the state of Texas so there would be an investigation. Meanwhile, I had to remove my daughter from their care and they were withholding their insurance information from us, which is illegal. Any parent has the right to get insurance information from their daycare at ANY time, they must furnish it upon request due to Texas law. We found my daughter a new daycare after the director leaving me a voicemail saying they did not actually interview all of the teachers, but it looks like the last teacher of the day said something could have possibly happened. Finally, a month later, the investigator let me know that he found in our favor, that the incident did IN FACT happen AT THE DAYCARE. They finally gave us their insurance information after her father and I provided them with proof that they HAD to give it to us by law. I finally got in touch with thier insurance claims representative to get the paperwork only to have Sonlight STILL NOT be willing to fill out their part of the claim form. This has gone BEYOND ridiculous. PLEASE DO NOT TAKE YOUR CHILD HERE. I know another parent who has also removed her daughter from this daycare due to their unorganization. The owner is senile and has how idea how to run a business. I really believe she is crazy and with how she talks to me as well as the other reviews I have found, I am not the only one to have dealt with this woman. Do not even fall subject to this daycare they only care about money and the owner does not care about your children. The teachers my daughter had were GREAT, but as far as the administration of this daycare (with exception of the office manager), they have no compassion for doing what is right. Christian daycare? RIGHT!!!!!!!

I have a 4½yo and a 7month old attending and Ive had nothing but good experiences with this school! As soon as I walk in the door, I get greeted by name with a smile so this lets me know that the front is always monitored. The teachers are always very calm, always willing to answer questions, give detail reports when asked, are always open to suggestions and never get irritated when I call several times a week to check on my boys. The administration is very accommodating to requests and I have dropped by unexpectedly many times for the past two years and have never been disappointed with the way any child is treated. I love how the children are taught to pray, they give importance to holidays like Easter, Christmas, and even valentines to teach children to be loving. I would love it if they had cameras or an app that tells me when and what the boys eat but other than this request for technology, I am very happy and my sons will continue to attend. I totally recommend Sonlight School and Child Care to the parent who wants to be involved in the care of their children.

I love this academy I been her for about 3yrs. I like the code for each parent to go in, not just anyone can come and pick up your kid they have to be on your list for pick up. They also call to make sure this is true... I have a 6yrs old there now. What I like about him being there, is they have a bus to take him to school and pick him up also they help as much as they can with his home work. For spring break they had lots of arts and crafts and for the summer they go field trips and ect... I also have a 1 yrs old and a 7month old. These ladys are amazing. They are always clean and happy. My 1yrs old knows sign language and talks a lot. She knows most of her abs, she is getting better. My 7month baby is also happy and clean. I like the way they always make sure she has a clean sheet for the day and also clean clothes. I was really scared putting my kids into a daycare but I feel like they are safe and loved by them.

My son is 2 and I wouldnt have him at any other daycare. The staff is so caring and loving and they really care about the children. With there help he is now fully potty trained. I can call anytime of the day and the secretary will go to his classroom and check on him for me. The rates are also really reasonable. I would recommend this daycare to anyone who is looking for childcare.

My 3 & 1/2 year old daughter has been going to this school for about a year, and I LOVE it, she loves it and she loves her teachers. I have nothing negative to say about this school! The prices are very reasonable as well. Id recommend this school to any parent.
