Ive worked out a lot of gyms since I got out the Army. And may I say that nothing better than a military gym to where u have the freedom to work out any base and branch you want anywhere in the world. Now as a vet, Ive worked out at Gold gym,, Planet fitness, 24 hrs fitness, Worlds gym, Jims Gym, Family own gym, and even hotel n casino gym. These gyms are really nice and fancy but I just dont get the work out needed when it comes down to it. I think its the quality of weights and machines. It makes a lot of difference for me. Thats exactly I found here in Smac thats why am still on it. Biggest gripe that I have is the mens restroom/locker room. It can get nasty and smelly bcoz of the size. Another one is the radio station. Get some variety of musics pls or do I have to yell? :) someone mentioned here that the owner is a fool, well if u own this place for your bread and butter you will act worse than him. Lol! Still a 5 star IMHO.

Stop paying for contracts you dont need nor do you want! San Marcos Athletic Club has the best pricing around San Marcos! Ive been going here for a year and prior to going here I almost signed up with Golds gym, but the people that work at golds made me feel like any other person who wants me to sign a contract "evil" at San Marcos Athletic Club its $2 a day, which is great for me cuz I dont always have time to go to the gym. And if I decide not to go back its that simple I dont have to try to get out of a contract I dont have to haggle or deal with them I literally just come and go as I please! I would highly recommend San Marcos Athletics Club to anybody!

No BS gym, no pool, no daycare. What they do have is everything you need to get fit, awesome hours (i think every day of the year) and plenty of free weights, machines, and cardio equipment. I go there early in the morning and have never had to wait for anything so I can get in and out and their prices are the best anywhere. Period. No contract, no billing, just pay and go. You can do a day, month, semester, or year so they have options but its as easy as it can be for anyone wanting to work out and get in shape.

You wont find any fancy gadgets or complicated Butt Blaster 2044 machines here. You have everything you need to be fit and healthy. Weights and cardio equipment. Their prices are competitive, and it is the most relaxed gym atmosphere in San Marcos. Ive been going here since high school. Loved it then, love it today.

It doesnt matter if you are a casual or dedicated fitness person, youll find exactly what you need at SMAC. Staff is super friendly and nice, gym is clean and the equipment is always in good shape. Newer treadmills are nice to beat the heat. No pressure to join and its just $2 to workout. Cant beat that.

This gym as all the benches, squat racks, dumbbells, cables, machines & ATTITUDE you will ever need! Gym of some of the strongest & coolest dudes & dudette sulu will ever meet. Great lifting environment for powerlifters, bodybuilders, and weekend warriors. And a deadlift platform, of course.

They do not hassle you about enrollment fees and there are no contracts. Overall everybody is very friendly and it is just a great place to workout for those of us that do not go to the gym for a social event. It is even open Christmas day for those of us that over indulge!

SMAC is best gym for those who simply want to do real work. Most of the people who go here are dedicated to their fitness goals and always friendly. Plus with unbeatable rates its the only gym I would recommend to anyone in the area.

I was a member from 1999 to 2001, while doing undergrad at SWT (now TSU). BEST gym I have ever worked out at. Whenever I visit the Hill Country, I still make a point of visiting and working out at SMAC. I LOVE this place.

The owner is a tool, but for 2 bucks a day you can get done what you need to. There arent any quality cardio machines, but enough iron to throw around to get jacked.
