Some of the best brisket I have ever eaten in my life, it is nice, tender and fatty enough to keep it moist without being too fatty. The sausage is a little bit on the bland side but paired with the incredible BBQ sauce it is perfect. We spent a small fortune between the 4 pounds of meat and 3 large sides at 89 bucks but is was well worth it. Delicious BBQ and sides all around. One of the best parts is the FREE ICE CREAM. Gotta love it, we will be back! One star off for the lack of smiles, is it so hard to make non locals feel welcome, my family is some of the first settled in San Saba, it would be nice to see a smile.

Gages BBQ is all about friendly San Saba folks making great food. Its a family owned and operated business, all the way down to the grand kids. You probably wont find a better place to eat in town. I suggest any of their BBQ, would put it up against Franklins BBQ, or the chicken fried steak and onion rings...oh yeah...its BYOB. Enjoy, tell Sally, Dan sent me.

Since the restaurant had been there awhile I figured it was going to be great. I was very sorry to say it was not. The place was cute, the people nice, the food not worth going again Im sorry to say. The smoked turkey was very unpleasantly salty and the brisket very dry with not a lot of flavor. Sorry folks, I really expected it to be very different.

I love this place. I know the owners very well and they dedicate so much time into their recipe and flavor. The sauce is what makes their BBQ standout. Better than Salt Lick

Awesome little stop passing through town. Old and neclectic! BBQ sandwiches were great, and chicken nuggets appeared to be fresh made in house. Delicious!
