The first time I went to the Texas Hair Team, i was incredibly pleased with the service, haircut, and highlights I recieved. The lady who cut and colored my hair was named Rosa. She stayed almost 45 minutes past closing time to finish my hair! She first washed it, then dried it, parted it on the side like i usually have it, and then she cut it. It looked really great~probably the best hairdut I have ever had! Then she highlighted it and the highlights were also great. She washed it again and dried it and it looked terrific! (Note that I have never had my hair colored before). The total price for everything came to about $80. Ok but then I went back about three months later to get touchups down. Rosa was busy so this lady named Wendy agreed to do them for me. This was about 6:45 p.m. and they close at 8:00. She said that it would take too long to do full highlights, but that she could manage to get partial highlights done. I told her that this was fine, because that was what I was wanting. So she washed my hair, then she parted it down the middle and cut it while it was still wet. I had asked her to cut only about half an inch but after she dried my hair about two inches were gone! Then she highlighted my hair, and while she was working she said "Im not going to talk very much because Im concentrating on speed because we are about to be closing," which I thought was kind of rude. My hair was finally finished around 8:30 p.m. and then I was told that my bill was $107!!! I asked why it was so much more expensive than last time, because last time I had gotten full highlights for only about $80 and this time I had only gotten partial! Wendy said that she actually gave me full highlights because she had enough time, and she charged me extra for using conditioner when she washed my hair, which I didnt even ask for. Wendy also said that Rosa had actually only charged me for partial highlights! I was very confused because Rosa had obviously undercharged me, and also because Wendy had given me full highlights when I asked for partial. I paid the full $107 which I now regret. I am going to try to get my money back because I very much feel as if I were robbed! Anyways, if you ever go to this place see Rosa!! Rosa was the nicest, sweetest, best hairdresser I have ever met. Wendy should not be working at the Texas Hair Team.

I am a former hair stylist and the only person who has ever cut my hair in the last 20 years the way I like it is my former boss, but she has severe Rheumatoid Arthritis and can no longer do it. I went in for a trim and explained that I wanted half an inch to an inch trimmed strait across. My hair was really long. The lady was very sweet but didnt listen. She "trimmed " my hair and showed me the "inch" of hair on the floor that she cut but when I got home and looked at the back (she didnt show me in the salon) I was floored. My hair is much shorter than I asked and is now in a V-shape. This is exactly why I dont trust anyone because they dont listen. I dont understand how she could have misunderstood what I asked for. I used to do hair so I know how to ask for what I wanted. I am just sick to my stomach over this. Its only hair but it took my a long time to grow it as long as it was and on top of that, Inhabe naturally curly hair, so if I straighten it with a flat iron, who knows how bad it will look. Just not happy about it. The lady was super sweet but did what she wanted and didnt listen. Just be very aggressive when you tell your stylist what you want and insist that she understands exactly what you want before she starts cutting your hair! And also, I wont say her name, because maybe she was having a bad day, and maybe she for some reason didnt understand me, although, I dont know how I could have said what I wanted any different, but there is a cliche about stylists who have short hair, that they want to cut everyone elses hair short too, well, I think thats what happened. And her hair was purple. That should have told me right there to wait for someone else! I could go on.......but you get the point.

I had a similar experience as one of the other girls on here. I showed the stylist a picture of the hair that I wanted......to my shoulders with a side sweep bang. I already have a side sweep bang so I just wanted it shortened a bit. It was a pretty simple cut. By the time she was done my hair is now right beneath my ears!!!!! I have a naturally round face so it looks freaking horrible on me. Its partially uneven on one side. To go from hair from the middle of my back to right below my ears is terrible. The color turned out okay, but not exactly the way I wanted it either. So now Im stuck with this messed up bowl looking hair cut until my hair can grow out.i dont understand what the purpose of me telling her what I wanted and why she couldnt realize that when my hair is wet it is going to shorten up after it dries!!! I now have to figure out how to style it to make it look halfway decent until it can grow out. I wont go to this salon again, it had better reviews but apparently my stylist had no idea what she was doing. I should have known when she kept asking other stylists what to do. So I guess I have learned from my mistake.............UPDATE.....so I called and spoke to the manager and came in today so they could see my hack job. The manager was super nice and she had Michelle fix my hair. Michelle did a fantastic job. She took the hack job and turned it into a decent hair cut. Due to so much length being off my hair I have to deal with short hair, but she did fix it and it looks 10 times better now. They will also set me up with an appointment to get my hair color fixed since that was messed up too. I will definitely be going back to Michelle she is amazing.

I went in for an eyebrow waxing since its almost valentines and my girlfriend has complained that I have too thick of eyebrows and that I need to give them more maintenance to make them look good. In the past, I always tell the person doing my eyebrows clean up around the top, and get rid of everything in the middle but not to go too far. This time I showed the woman doing my eyebrows a picture of how I wanted them done plus the description I usually give when I ask for this service. This is the most Ive done for anyone and Ive gotta say she is the one who has done the worst with them.. and by far. The top looks fine but she left such a big space between my eyebrows its not even funny. I measured it and its an inch and a half of space between them; I look like a freak and will honestly probably try to wear hats for the next 3-4 weeks until my eyebrows grow back. The only good part about this is that I got my money back... its not great because its like I went just so they could make me look like a freak but at least I didnt spend any money. I dont think Ill be going back to this place for a while if ever.
