I used Five Elements for hair and makeup for myself, my bridesmaids, my mom, and my mother in law for my wedding at the Red Clover Inn on October 8, 2016. My experience on the day of our wedding was positive, and I was quite happy with the end result. Amanda, who coordinates the wedding stylists, was a pleasure to work with from the start, quick to return emails and phone calls, and very helpful with questions. The salon itself is very beautiful and relaxing, and the Aveda products that they use have a wonderful smell. Tracy and Brittni were very welcoming, knowledgeable, and patience. I’m very glad that I chose to do a trial, as I think it was very informative. I am not a person who usually pays much attention to my own hair and makeup, so it was a challenge for me to describe what I was looking for, and even to be able to react to what I was seeing. Tracy spent extra time with me, which I really appreciated. I still felt a bit nervous after the trial, as I was having trouble visualizing the changes that the stylists were describing, but on the day of the wedding, we were able to achieve a hairstyle and makeup level that were beautiful and perfect with my dress, and still felt like me. The stylists came to us at the Red Clover Inn, which felt very luxurious and relaxed, and they worked efficiently and stayed on schedule. All of my bridesmaids and the moms loved their hair and makeup. Everything lasted to the end of the wedding without any issues. I also thank Tracy for her patience with our darling little flower girl—she was truly amazing with little Jane! I would recommend Five Elements to other Vermont brides.

I was planning to have my hair and my bridal party hair/makeup done at this salon. I filled out the contract on their website and when I went to have my trial up-do done. The receptionist gave me a contract already filled out by the manager which had the deposit due of over $200 more than I required. I tried explaining this to the woman and she refused to listen to me, and insisted I sign that contract. I refused and told her I wasnt signing anything until I spoke to the manager. All of this happened with other customers in line, and it was humilating. I did go ahead and had the trial, which turned out just "ok". I called the manager a few weeks later to talk to her about my experience, and she was in my opinion quite snotty and not overly apologetic. I decided based on her attitude that Id look elsewhere...and I did. Who needs this kind of stress and drama when youre planning a wedding! Not me!!

i was looking for my wedding hair stylist and 5 elements came highly recommended. For my hair trial I gave her a photo of jessica alba with a low chingnon with braid crown, and i walked out with cornrows and a hot curling iron nightmare. it was embarassing. they also refused to come to the wedding venue to do my hair on the day of the wedding, saying that it is against the law in VT ( it isnt). I was really sad this place didnt work out. i came so highly recommended as the top spot in Rutland. i was so disappointed. Maybe they do other things well, i dont know.
