Just moving from the west coast, I was excited to find a quality barber shop here with great reviews just a few blocks from my new place. After a few weeks in town, it was time for a trim so I headed on down. I could not be more disappointed. One of my biggest pet peeves is a hair stylist/barber who doesnt listen to how you want your hair cut and simply cuts it the way they know how. When I sat in the chair, I clearly explained that I would like a mid fade on the sides and only a quarter inch trim max on the top, as I liked the current length. Well, with the first swipe of the scissors, she began cutting off about three quarters of an inch on the front and well over an inch towards the back. Of course it was too late to stop her and I had to let her finish to even it all out. The mid fade on the side ended up turning into more of a high fade, and I pretty much was ready to head off to boot camp with my new look. There also seemed to be a language barrier as well. Another pet peeve of mine is business that only accepts cash and doesnt tell you up front. Turns out this is one of those places, and I did not quite have enough to cover the bill. Seeing that I was clearly not happy with my new dew, she just took what I had and I went on my way. At least my hair grows out fast. I dont think I will return.

Pro: It was a good haircut. Con: It wasnt what I asked for! I gave very specific directions how I wanted my hair, where to start the fade, how to trim the sideburns, that I wanted a shave(I asked for the works when I walked in, which is supposed to include a haircut, shampoo, and shave). Instead, she ended the fade where I asked her to start it, she chopped off half my sideburns, shaved me with a machine (the website advertises razor shave), and did not shampoo. Losing my sideburns was very disappointing because I was *very* specific that I wanted to keep them, I gave specific instructions, drawing lines with my fingers to not pass these lines, and she went ahead and shaved them off anyway. Not that anything could have been done once she got started, but I took off my glasses so by the time I realized it was too late. The only consolation was that I paid less than advertised.

I had been searching in the area for a good barber that was priced for the quality they did, which I feel a lot of barbers get away with overcharging in this area... I FINALLY found a great barber that does a quick and clean job and is accurately and competively priced. Arzum is my new go-to barber with it being close to work. Watch out for the parking patrol, they arent lazy in that area either so pay to park, or chances are you can get a cut before they get to your car if you dont see them in the area. Cash only for now, but I feel with increased biz they will go electronic, but I dont mind either way. Try it out!

READ THIS!!! I never write reviews on anything. I moved here 6 months ago and have been looking for a barber. Ive been to everyone, paid the ridiculous prices at gentlemens quarter just down the street and was completely unsatisfied. I took "a chance" and went Arzum today. I cant write enough glowing words to describe how i felt about my cut. The precision and attention to detail is incredible and I feel like a million bucks. The final price was $18. WHAT?!?! I tipped him 40% I was so thankful I finally found someone who cares enough!

Asked for a fade to zero got all zero never coming back.only mentioned it and explained the haircut about a million times and she still gave me an all zero cut (smh) if you cant do a simple fade you should find another profession. If you want want amazing haircuts for 14 dollars to to Sebastians unisex hair salon in Richmond highway. The haircuts I get there are a million times more professional and a fraction of the price of this overpriced nonsense.

Arzu is a terrific barber and now has the perfect new location in downtown Old Town. Her work is consistently great and she finishes the cut with a hot shave with a single blade on the back of your neck. Its an awesome experience and somehow under 20 bucks. Definitely recommend this barber shop if your living in the DC area - if its a bit of a hike it makes for a perfect excuse to grab some food in Old Town.

The place is just off of King St. So you might miss it. The cut was quick and clean, though the shaving was ok. My barber did a good job overall only thing was she only smiled when we were done and didnt do any small talk. Though that might have been due to a language barrier. I asked a couple of times for a shampoo before she understood what I wanted.

I will be going back. Great haircut but not the brightest chair-side manner. The stylist I saw did not introduce herself to me or respond with more that single words during my visit (it was my first time there). She did, however, listen to all my comments and requests and gave me a great haircut. She wasnt rude at all, just not personable.

Fantastic barber shop. I got a great haircut from a very friendly woman (I think it was the owner) that knew exactly what she was doing, and for half the price of other places in neighborhood. This will be my regular haircut place from now on.

This is a great barber shop. I got an excellent Mens haircut for $18. The staff was very friendly. I showed them a picture of me from a month ago with a haircut that I liked. Cant beat that! The hot lather shaver was a nice touch.

Great new & local barber. The shop is new to Old Town but the barbers and owners are veterans. A normal mans cut cost me $17 before tip and I was done in under an hour. They usually have 2 barbers on shift and theyre open on Sundays.

This place was very unsuspecting in the best way. Its small and family owned but best of all they know how to cut hair very well. The lady that cut mine used a razor like a pro! Very inexpensive and you get more than you pay for.

Best hair cut I have ever gotten period. I go in for a crew cut and it is perfect everytime, I have thick curly hair and no one seems to be able to cut it right besides the folks here. 11 out of 10

They offer a great haircut for a very reasonable price. They are great with my kids also. Better than any other barber in the area, hands down. Im sure well be customers here for a long time.
